Usually QCon is on mid-August, but they haven’t set the date or the location for this next one yet.

Phew. Finally finished watching the interview (bloody Gamespy servers…). I must say I am rather weary of the persistent stats. As long as there are some sort of visible rank in-game, there is going to be XP whores.

Some positive things I noted is the role assignment system? which was mentioned. I think it’d be great help for newbies to the game. Instead of cursing at noobs, now you can literally show them wat to do! Fantastic!

Every time I try to download the links “Right click to save” the download start and ends directly, since it is finished to quickly. I get 45kb of file regardless what file I try to download. I’ve tried firefox and IE. I can stream without trouble, but I want to have them on my drive…

Edit: LOL, it worked by --left clicking-- the link that said “Right click to save”…

Anyone else besides me that thought the terrain looked very low res and very flat lit for a feature they’ve been boasting for this long?

texture so low res that I thougt someone beamed me back to 1999. Holy moly… how can games still have so ultra ugly low res textures

Whats even worse looking than the textures are the super mega ultra cheap particle effects. OMG, ultra simple “bitmaps” explosions.

I just lost all the hope in Quake Wars as THE next graphical benchmark for online fps. But what I just saw is the pure crap.

I only liked the animations. Looks fluid and smooth.

Not the best first post… but everyone his opinion.
Do note that in an MP-game, FPS is King!
If there were high-res textures, few would use them since those players might have a disadvantage. :wink:

I agree with gameplay!

But I am not buying games, that look so horrible that makes my latest pc hardware useless. Also Quake Wars was advertised as the next graphic bomb (faked screenshots).

Some of the screenshots ARE low-res, no faking used there. Or does the new high-res trailer “show” more detail missing?

LOL! Looks horrible? No, my friend, the Land of the Dead MP game was horrible. Just pick up a copy on ebay for about 5 bucks. Then we can talk what looks “horrible”.

On the other hand I think the game looks great and it will play great. I am going to buy this game regardless of what some X-BOX 360, BF 2, Gears of War lover says. :smiley:
