New RtCW Map... MP_DELIVERY Goes Final...

(demoneye) #1

Hi,

MP_DELIVERY has now reached final!!!

After lots of testing and feedback by the Happy Penguin II crew (thanks Shitkicker) all the mods have been made and “The Delivery” is now released in it’s final state.

OVERVIEW

“The delivery has been made, but the Allies strike and steals one of the two packing cases. The Axis are now left with only one option, destroy the stolen case. The Allies take the same approach.”

FEATURES

  • It’s a LARGE map, intended for at least 12v12 play, and “spawn equiped” for 32v32.
  • Dual explosive objectives, with good play balance
  • The foundry contains a central spawn capture flag
  • Drop down/retractable ladders at four points in the map
  • Elevators
  • Custom Textures
  • Custom Sounds
  • Monitor cameras for objective views

CHANGES SINCE PUBLIC BETA

  • Initial secondary objectives removed
  • Wider corridors (including sewers) throughout
  • Small rooms increased in size
  • Upper attack areas near both objectives
  • Upper area near Allied objective
  • Redesign of upper corridors to stop the “Panzerfaust” corridor problem for the allied attack
  • Unusable buttons removed
  • Door ramps removed
  • Spawn redistributed in foundry to highlight lower exit
  • External spawn spread out to give more spawn locations (Defence/Base/Internal)
  • FPS increased in external areas
  • Elevators now run all the time
  • Lower foundry doors can now be opened/closed from either side
  • Now room/route added between Delivery Area, Store room, Sewers and Upper Corridor
  • New route added between Internal Siding and Coal Bins
  • Routes added from Internal Siding/Motor Pool to external tunnels
  • Terrain texture darkened for players who play with competition configs
  • Basement textures redesigned to show difference between Axis/Allied side
  • Clipping issues on Allied side addressed

Sorry but is this for enemy territory??

(demoneye) #3

Jahuu - No, this is for RtCW - I’ve updated the topic title to reflect this…

Hoping to convert to ET when the tools come out.

Great Map,
I was able to get a couple hours playing it yesterday at HP2. I like the new changes from the beta. I look forward to playing on some of your new work.

Thanks man…

New project is being researched at the moment, and this time I’m gonna go for something slightly smaller - only 16v16 this time.

Like I said the first time, this is NOT the appropriate forum for your map advertisements. Its sad that you picked a lousy time to release a map, since most players are playing Enemy Territory, but I have run through your map, and its very amateurish. Perhaps it is a blessing that we are all playing Enemy Territory. Please advertise on www.rtcwfiles.com or planetwolfestein.

Whom did you say that to, not me? And BTW, who died and made you a moderator?

I think you will find that there is still quite a large number of players who are very happy playing vanilla RtCW.

Thanks :???: Maybe you can explain why over 1500 people downloaded the beta from RTCWFILES, and since coming into public beta it’s been in virtual constant rotation on several servers with extremly good feedback for content and playability?

I think you have a bit of a downer on most map makers, including Splash Damage, as you said in one of your 6 posts since you registered 8 days ago (?!?!) - “I enjoy Splash Damage maps, but I always thought they were inferior to maps made by Nerve”. Prehaps you should have a go at making a map yourself instead of just rubbising other peoples work?

Until you become a moderator - which judging from your attitude is a long way off - I’ll post where I damn well please.

Yeah please don’t speak for the entire forum Ubiquitous, we are not all idiots, don’t make us look like it.

Anyway I have given this map a try and I like it a lot. It’s huge but not overly complicated. Unfortunately I have not seen it at any other servers besides Happy “Suicide Panzer Noobie” Penguin II.

If I were to compare the quality of maps, a Nerve map would be an Italian sportcars in perfect condition, a Splash Damage map would be a luxury cadillac, and a Demoneye map would be a Gremlin, poorly painted with doors hanging by a thread, and a muffler dragging two feet behind the car.
