just wait some days…think they will come, you can test offline & with your own servers, so it shouldnt be any problem.
Just a wee bit of update:
The player carrying the ball will now regenerate health up to 80% of his max health with 3 hp per second. It’s not cumulativ so meds will still only regenerate three health points.

Next step later on will be to get the player to actually hold the ball in the hand (perhaps).
Also I dusted of my enormous 3d max skills and whiped up a new goal model. Yeah right… lol, it took quite some time, I’m definitely not a modeller/skinner.

I’m still looking for help with at least two things, a good texture artist that can help making some banner textures and some hud design (also need some kind of logo for the mod), and someone to help with new announcer voices when a team pick up a ball, loose it, scores etc. I could possibly do it myself, have the gear for it but hearing a swede talk english is not the ultimate solution lol.
This mod is great. And it’s getting better day by day.
Nice goal. Futuristic but looks nice.
There should be an alternative.
Some kind of Rugby/American Football goal.
The player that has the ball could also have higher stamina.
This player could behave as a medic “on dope”.
The idea of the player carrying the ball in first person view is nice.
Just insert the ball as new weapon.
So pressing the attack button (firing) would pass the ball.
No need to bind a new key.
The ball could look like a Rugby-ball.
Or has the ball to be round (because of the behaviour).
For third person view the arm model of covert op/medic/filed op carrying their packs/charge could be used.
would indeed be nice to have +attack used for throwing the ball.

Has been something with a shader and a texture (textures/lights/light_m1r.tga) that haven’t been found.

Yeah … I’m running the ECGN Powerball server as a test because I didnt see any servers of this online…
Think you can compile the linux build on an older linux distro?..You’re definitely not gonna see too many servers of this when they require the latest libc…ask bani nicely and he might build you a more compatible version…
I have had the server crash once already but I didnt have the logfile enabled so I’m not sure what happened…
Is there a g_gametype I have to have set? I currently start it with g_gametype 2, since that seems to be the only way I can load the mod…
Also is there a cvar for capturelimit or anything like that? Without documentation, you prolly wont see this mod go anywhere with server operators.
ok using +attack for throwing ball now, to fire regualary you have to throw ball, release button and then fire.

I was there when server crashed (~1 h ago).
We’ve voted several modes because there hasn’t been a scoreboard (the red and blue fields on right hand side).
And we thought other mode will bring up the scoreboard.
So please deactivate voting game modes.
The server crashed as we’ve played one round LMS (silly because there was no ball at all).
I think the server has tried to load next map or something.
Yeah I know, docs are very sparse, everything is new and nothing is final. I do have to admit I released the mod for raising some interest mostely. Set g_gametype to 6.
I’ve compiled the source with gcc3 because of an error reported with older tools when compiling, I’ve seen a solution to it now so next release will be compiled correctly.
The correct mode is g_gametype 6, if there isn’t a ball something is wrong with the server setups, gamtype 6 only changes the scoring system (and other small things).
OK…How bout a scorelimit?

If not, I’m just gonna limit it to 10 minute rounds.
