New Merc: Mags

Ability 1: Railgun
Mags pulls out a Railgun, and moves at a greatly decreased rate. She must set up the Railgun on a tripod in order to fire it. This takes a short amount of time, she must then charge each shot completely before firing. The shots charge slowly, slightly slower than spark’s gun, but deal 100 damage each.

Ability 2: depleted uranium rounds
Mags deploys a station that replaces allies’ current magazine with depleted uranium rounds, greatly increasing range

1st ability is way to weak, if it is his main ability it needs to do like 1000 damage or so.
The nade launcher delivers 100 per shot.
Also I think a shouvel would be cool as a melee, plasma cannon as primary and Stolen MP as secondary.

The made Launcher also has arc to it, and arm time, it’s apples and oranges, this ability is supposed to be somewhat of a sniper, but requiring setup and immobility, perhaps it could do more damage, but I’d rather not have an ability that one shots 90% of the cast

It already takes down 7 of the 19 mercs in one shot, it doesn’t need to be 16

seems like DU ammo is primarily used to penetrate armor. dont know about weapon range(which i assume is increasing the distance before bullet damage starts to drop off), but i think it should do bonus damage against the EV(so shooting the EV looks less like a pathetic attempt)

also, maybe it should be in those “mini-ammo packs” rather than an ammo station? gives the next reload after picking up the pack alone the buffed one?

as for the rail gun…i dunno. i think the set up should be similar to kushwanker’s turret, tho, you drop it down it sets itself up, then you use it, all the while, enemies can just shoot it down.

would the railgun auto or manual ? if manual can it be took by teammates ? would she be vulnerable to body shots when in the gun ? (not covered like the map mg)

@neverplayserious and an ability that is much less useful, alongside only having smgs, by that logic Nader shouldn’t be an assault, she should be fire support.

@yesser she would be unable to leave the Railgun without a short disassembly time

@TheRyderShotgun I’m not sure, but I’m fairly certain denser metals carry velocity more effectively, that’s why bullets are mainly lead, because it’s dense AF

Give it boosted damage against E.V.'s and/or generators to make this character an ACTUAL fire support merc. If not for area denial, than for E.V. stopping power.

I like it except for the depleted uranium rounds, perhaps just a normal station. Dirty Bomb doesn’t really venture into buff abilities of stats for a reason.

The railgun is nice with the tripod. I don’t think you should limit the speed but rather the amount of shots with it. Still require a charge up but it shouldn’t be dragged out too long. Apart from that; nice idea.

I’d avoid SMGs on this mercenary to be honest, but that’s just an opinion. It’s just my two-cents on the matter.

@Fyrix i understand where you’re coming from, but my intention is for this to be more of an ability than a weapon, that’s why it’s fire support. It also does have some anti infantry capability, so I don’t want to give assault rifles. Make sense?

Welp, i always wanted a merc that was able to shoot people with a railgun, also another disadvantage for the rail gun would be that while it’s charging the shot you can see like how it’s charging, like lighting up or something like that. (this is just an idea)

placing the gun on a tripod to fire makes the character using it vunerable to enemy snipers, maybe some sort of shield in front of the gun which will absorb some damage and then break.

@peppyCandle the point is to be a bit like a mobile MG, but with different mechanics, huge damage in exchange for more vulnerability

what you should do is have the weapon have a single shot, and a flexible cool down, where if I use the railgun, I don’t have to wait 10 seconds to use it again, I can just wait 5 and have a 50% Reduction to damage, and instead of the depleted uranium ammo station, it should be a specialized ammo station, that as it shares it’s ammo with the team, it will charge, when fully charged, it will do a map wide buff to the team, like you originally thought, of a range buff, it wouldn’t work well for shotgun users, so instead it would have a damage buff to snipers and shotguns (Fe-lix & The Lever action shotgun for example), a range buff for auto rifles and LMGs (M4A1 & Thunder’s LMG), and a fire rate buff for burst and single fire rifles(AUG like rifle)

@NuclearCats I don’t like the idea of a sniper damage boost, the snitch is okay because it is avoidable and counterable, but if a sniper is going to one shot an aura with a body shot, it shouldn’t be without a simple counter

I understand, maybe a firerate, or for bolt action snipers, faster bolt rate, allowing you to fire again faster

Unfortunately that doesn’t quite fit the idea, why would denser rounds make you fire faster? Perhaps something along the lines of an increased headshot multiplier? It would only effect headshots specifically, and allow the instagib some people want, and kill those dastardly rhinos and thunders with one shot, though I’m skeptical about something like this
