I’d advise you make it a constant tracer/laser pointer if it requires charging pre-firing. Being killed without warning would REALLY suck - especially if you’re using a heavier merc specifically to survive basic snipers.
New Merc: Mags
@Naonna how necessary this would be I’m not sure (more than likely it’s a good idea, but the fact that this merc has to be stationary when firing might be enough, you can never tell unless you play against it)
Another thing to think about; (yes I know this isn’t overwatch) Bastion is an incredibly strong hero aside from the fact he can’t move. He has ridiculous DPS, yet he’s still balanced, because he’s very vulnerable. However, I feel that testing would be necessary to truly balance a merc such as Mags
Bastion is in a game with characters who have GREAT levels of mobility - teleportation, wall running/climbing, exc. - Dirty bomb does NOT. This is evidenced by how difficult it can be to kill a rhino without using explosive mercs on underground.
This effectively creates a long-range rhino situation. yes, a sniper might be able to kill him in setup, but once this new merc bolts down an area, it’s not quite as easy, assuming they have the support of their team. 1shotting a rhino is DANGEROUS, even over long ranges and with proper setup. I disagree with the idea of a merc that powerful, even if it only has limited applications.
Returning to my first point, Phantom was in part hated (by most, for some reason,) because of his 1 shot melee and ease of mobility and re-positioning upon release.
points at ‘insightful’ button on the previous post. ‘-’ … pls. Up there. Click-y.
there are 2 things that I am fearing about this thread, the fact that the thread has become a war zone, and that the merc doesn’t do the part of a fire support merc, resupply ammo, not refill one mag with special rounds, this makes the merc only viable on defense, or when defending C4 like on 1st objective terminal.
A warzone? This is one of the more civil discussions I’ve had. I do agree that this merc is very defense focused though, which I will try to remedy
