New merc free rotation might make some ppl quit/stop playing the game

(Maveras) #1

Vassili is either broken as he can insta gib or more likely most of the time dead weight in the hands of most of the new players that have no ideia how to play it
Rhino is all around broken, way to much dmg and way too much HP
Bushwhacker, well its not fun to try to defuse a bomb when there is 3-4 sentry guns on it

Those 3 mercs are way too strong or gamebreaking and you are just giving them out for free for the next 2 weeks, game is already not doing that great with all the performace and hacking problems, you guys might be doing a huge shoot in the foot with that free rotation

(DuckY) #2

I think you are somewhat right, but they are going to need to be put in at somepoint. They are characters in the game and as they are, they are a bit stronger than one would want. But I do not think that this will ruin the game as much as you think.

(LifeupOmega) #3

Play with friends and communicate. Next two weeks are gonna be very slow games.

(ThatRandomGuy) #4

Just had a round with 5 Bush n 3 Rhinos as enemies and 6 Rhinos + 1 AURA + 1 proxy(me) …

It was raining bullets… 5 MGs + 3 Miniguns !

(Yak) #5

I’m fine with them being in rotation, but all at once is a bit much.

(Ardez1) #6

People said the same thing when Proxy was on free rotation back in closed beta. Then people learned REALLY well how to avoid it.

People said the same thing back when there was no engineer on free rotation for the first time. Then people realized they needed an engineer in their squad in case a teammate didn’t have one.

Same story, different week.

(ThatRandomGuy) #7

No its not the same story…

Those mercs on free rotation are FINE ! But the issue here is that Rhino and Bush is in free rotation at the same time…

It couldave been anything or any combination with Rhino OR Bush but not with Rhino+Bush…

Yes, and more and more people will start to play Fragger/Nader and realize how to kill those mercs(those mercs being Rhino and Bushwhacker). Explosives are key.

EDIT: And yes, we would still be having this conversation if it was only Rhino.

(worthyStew) #9

None of them are any issues. I main Rhino and all day today I played Bushwhacker and other mercs instead. Like all mercs, in the wrong hands they are bad. Didn’t see a single decent Rhino today. Bushwhacker turrets are SO easy to deal with. Vasillis was the only minor nuisance. However only so in a team when he was backed up. Bads are bads, all mercs have pros and cons that you can exploit.

(Nervous) #10

Not really, it makes defending now very very easy. Especially when you they have some cover from ARTY and i do believe Nadar is not on free.

I assume we’re talking about pubs here. In which case . . . people are free to play what they like. It’s up to them, and all you can do is politely ask them to play something else.

Based on my experiences both as and against Rhino, he’s less of a threat than most mercs unless he has a dedicated medic. Just pack some explosives, and go to town. Or grab Vassili - who incidentally is on rotation right now. Or just shoot him at range, with literally any weapon. If you’ve got the range, a handgun will beat Rhino. I mean that. Just don’t run up to him from the front ( or at all ), and you’ll be fine.

Vassili on rotation is probably not a coincidence. It’s annoying to those of us who don’t enjoy having too many on our teams. Of course, most of them won’t be very good, and are an annoyance at worst.

Bushwhacker’s turrets require a bit of tactical thinking. Just a little, though. Get behind the thing, or pop it from range. If you see Bushwhacker drop it in the middle of a fight, shoot it a few times - or kill Bushwhacker and retreat. It gets silly if there’s four of them, as you say, pointed at the objective. I’d suggest that if the enemy team is that well set up, though, then you’re probably not doing a good job of holding them back to begin with, and likely would’ve lost the objective in any event.

Ofc we are talking about pubs, honest i tried competitive mode today for the first time, one of my team mates was a lv 5 guy with 7 hours of game that only played vassili the whole game despire me asking him to switch to something else, other were lv 7-8 with around 15 hours of game that mainly played aura/Skyhammer and could not hit a res, yes they could not figure out how to revive ppl. Not even CSGO silver was that kind of bad, not going to play again until i can do it with a full group of 5 ppl.

Leaving that behind the problem is not all 3 mercs on free week but them combined and in quantity, yes theres counterplay for rhino but you mainly can only do it with 2 mercs Nader and Fragger, i cant play those 2 all the time because i have to go medic as a lot of the time 1 am the only Sawbones of the team.

Vassili is a big problem on the hands of low lv players, they barely know the obj and have very little knowledge of the map or the way the game works, they end up just sitting in a useless spot being dead weight to the team, usually the team with less Vassilis win the game

Bushwhacker is atm the best eng, his turret do a lot of dmg but theres ofc lots of counterplay to it, not so many when the enemy team have 3+ of them placing the turrets near each other

tl;dr Individually those 3 mercs are strong, what make they broke is quantity and being on the hands of extreme inexperienced players

(DutchLM) #13

Vassili should never be in the free rotation, you’ll always end up with 4 snipers per team.

TBH with this rotation I just don’t feel like playing anymore. It isn’t fun like this.

(Mr-Penguin) #14

The last thing we need are all of the mercs that are perceived by new players as slow and campy (Bush with his turret, Rhino with his minigun, and Vasiline with his sniper rifle) following right after the big E3 reveal.

(LifeupOmega) #15

Having to deal with 3-4 Rhinos/Bushwackers wave after wave gets very tiresome very fast. Sure if I play perfect I can outplay them at every turn, but it takes a lot of time overall having to mow down a 200hp turret, a 100hp turret, and the engineer behind both of them.

That’s the main issue. I don’t care for class limits. I don’t care for what people play. But the three mercs that are very stationary and campy for most players are all on rotation at once. The games become slow. And that’s not what Dirty Bomb should be.

(XavienX) #16

I tried to sneak as Vassili after taking out 4 Bushwackers and tried to plant a bomb but apparently the corners had 4 turrets, staring right at my ass.

(scrub_lord) #17

As long as Nader doesn’t go into rotation, I could care less. When multiple people start spamming nades it makes me want to string up a rope.

(Jojack) #18

It’s not impossible to deal with, it’s just not very fun. I will definitely be playing less during this free rotation.

(Ghosthree3) #19

Just had a game with 4 bushies. It’s just turret after turret after turret. Like even if you kill them they just come back up. Then you have to remember that bushy is also a player of his own.

Cant compare no engineer with that nexon put up this time.
There are several posts on both forum/reddit and a lot of ppl are complaining about it, also i dont think as a nexon employee or forum voluntee you will speak against the company, not until its a mess that you cant cover up, this time its possible that it dont get that big. Companies like that only care about numbers, and with the huge E3 propaganda even with the amount of veteran players not playing/new players quitting you guys might keep the same amount of regular players online

Btw here is a question for you: Did you played the game with the new rotation and had fun with it?
