Merc name- Bishop

Ability- Trophy system - Blocks 5 incoming projectiles after 6 have gone off the trophy system stops working for 15 seconds before its re-activated automatically.

Cost- 50,000 or £7.00 ofc

Guns able to use - http://snag.gy/tBqfL.jpg - New weapon - DMR + Scope. What the link is a picture of an airsoft rifle hense the blue tip. Bishop can also use M14, blishlock or kek10 or Riot shield.

Does it matter where its from? Its to ballance game out and gun looks good… I thought thats what we’re doing here adding things that could be a good additon to the game. Trophy system to block projectiles because well grenade spam… And a new gun to add more veriaty.

  1. Can block unlimited times
  2. Once it blocks one explosive, it has a 3 (this is up to debate) second cool down before using said ability again
  3. Can be destroyed by shooting at it or just damaged in general
  4. if destroyed, 25 second cool down until it can be placed again
  5. has 100 health
  6. Has a certain radius of effect, any explosives detected in that radius will activate the ability
  7. has a physical presence and can block people
  8. can attach onto walls, ceilings, floors, etc…
  9. If ability is activated on Stokers Molotov and Skybro’s Air Strike, their abilities will not receive a full cooldown (up for debate)

This is what I think it should do, what do you guys think?

Support because your supporting your teamates by keeping them coverd by grenades but not airstrikes, bullet damage or flashbangs making smokes and flashbangs more useful.

So this trophy system can block projectiles etc. Interesting but sounds like it could be useful. I don’t think it would have that kind of Dirty Bomb feeling however, I could be wrong. When you said “guns able to use” you said a Riot Shield. Were you thinking of having a riot shield as another ability? Also remember that all mercs at the moment have a selection of only 3 weapons and I think that maybe giving him the timik or something instead of one of those SMG’s would be better.

Perhaps a Riot shield with the trophy system as abilities and having him with the timik or a new kind of weapon, although timik is good i just think we need a more veriaty of weapons like more like ones with changable scope or something that can be used at medium to long range without having the worry of burst fire weapons or scope with a limited fire rate like the M14, i dont think anyone uses that gun same as thunder, nobody plays him because of his weapon being a bit underpowerd :confused:

let me re-phrase my previous question; Which Dirty Bomb class does your merc fit into?

Mercs are divided into 5 classes, with 4 mercs fitting into each class.

Fire-support, Medic, Engineer, Assault and Recon.

Your merc lacks any abilities that would give a clear indication of which role he is to be used for. The only class I can see Bishop falling into is Engineer, but you would have to give him the objective specialist passive to achieve that.

It should be 25 seconds.

25 seconds of cooldown for something that can literally deny any explosives whatsoever for an almost continuous period of time. This idea needs reworking - drastic reworking.

Well think about it, you have to set it down first which takes couple to be set down. if it’s not there then thats more seconds for someone who can spam nades especially if we have another rotation on nader where litterally every game is nade spam, 5 shots from a nader then x8 = Not playable game. It forces people to use smoke bombs, flash bangs and makes the game skill based. Tactical based game. And if you really want then set it to 45 seconds. It’s not making nading pointless it just means gun fights are promoted more as a pose to nade, nade, nade, frag, nade, nade, frag, etc.

Here is my 5 cents on the issue and how i would have it work (I really like the ability idea btw)

The TS should self destruct after the it blocks the fifth explosive and THEN have the 45sec cooldown start. 15sec is not enough time to get people in position to push, especially since people would be putting the TS on top of other peoples deployables. (Imagine your merc, a rhino and an aura on the same team, thats a brick wall if ive ever seen one) There also isnt much counter-play i can see as it will probably be put in places where the people wanting to destroy it will have to move into the open/teammate sightlines to shoot at it. Also the only other way currently is pretty much either have a fletcher or nader spam their abilities at it to nullify it for more important mercs to be able to use their abilities, primarily fragger. But this kind of co-ordination is near impossible in pubs. So my fixes would be this;

  1. Only have it placeable in an open space, not on walls, kinda like bush turrets.
  2. Lower the amount of explosives it can block, as of now as i said, for a single merc to clear it, fletcher needs to use all his stickies plus 16sec for another two and nader needs to use her ENTIRE salvo.

I really think this merc could be really cool but some polish is needed. Keep it up.

Yeah, I will admit some polish but other then that I could see it as a good character to be added :smile:
