NEW MAP: Secret Weapon

The Sons of Stollig present to you “Secret Weapon”!

The map is quite small and intense, aimed for competitve play or small pub servers. The map will be used in a summer cup which I believe have some open spots - if you play in a clan, why dont you sign up http://deviant-et.kicks-ass.org/summercup/

Allied objectives: Blow a couple of doors, steal the secret weapon, deliver it to the airplane - but first build the radio which enables the drop point at the airplane. Capture the forward spawn. Watch out for minefields and rotating propellers - they hurt!

Axis: prevent all of the above

It looks very good but at 14 mb I would not call that small…

I’m quite impressed - very nice map. I’ll give it some play testing, if it’s up to snuff we’ll consider it for our leagues’ next season ( and give you feedback if we think there’s anything important that could be improved ).

Some of those screenies encoded a little ugly, and I don’t think you were running the highest graphics options, so I went a took a bunch for you:

( all but the last 2 are the same as in the 1st post, but with slightly higher graphics options and no HUD in the way )

Vaibhav: I meant “small” as in small area. The file is pretty big due to that we did 95% of all textures, models and sounds ourselves.

One small niggle …the mines have ‘Achtung Mines’ on the flag … why the mixture of German and English ? - not enough space for Minen ?

Well, if take a look around the map you see we have all kinds of “made up” german/english just for fun. Just as in ET itself, where the german voice chats are in english with german accent More fun, less seriousness

I run the MGL ( www.mgleague.co.nz ) ET divisions. Downunder stylez ;). We tend to favour fast-paced smaller customs ( last season we played with all but our finals map being custom maps like frostbite, supply depot, apennines, mp_beach, etc ).

In case you’re wondering how to get rid of the HUD yourself, the command is:
cg_draw2D “0”
And if it’s your own server, set cheats on ( /rcon forcecvar sv_cheats 1 ), and you can use the 3rd person views.
