w00! think i’m gonna bind that one to a key…

(Dawg) #23

Excellent. As long as we are making up new ones…

FAMNP = Flags Are Mines, Not Powerups.

nah you must be lying…
flags are cute, they can’t possibly kill people.

Maybe if I just step over one one more time I’ll get a shotgun!

(octalc0de) #25

What the fuck is wrong with you? You don’t say that ever in a FPS! :blah:

(Miles Teg) #26

Yes you do.

*Player has called a vote to kick DeAthSnIpEr

  • Someone else: Why?
  • Player: Well, the name. And he’s AFK.

:moo:

(twiFight) #27

\bind mousebutton1 “say Get to the frontline pussy or I’ll shove my thompson so far up your rectum you’ll spit bullets out of your mouth”

but then again… I might bind mousebutton1 to +attack

[sub]yes i know, the syntax is wrong[/sub]

(twiFight) #28

usually just hit chat and type “idle” right after votekicking, helpt 95 % of the times…

(Miles Teg) #29

Yes, but sometimes people say ‘afk’ instead of ‘idle’. So the abbreviation is relevant.

(Englander) #30

Ive seen AFK many times in RTCW,let me think is that an FPS :???: :banghead:

(weasel) #31

It’s okay to go AFK for like 5 minutes to answer the phone or something, as long as you join spectators first. Most people don’t bother to do this, though. They’ll just sit in the spawn.

(Kendle) #32

What the fuck is wrong with you? You don’t say that ever in a FPS! :blah:[/quote]
It’s got nothing to do with FPS games. All these abbreviations are common to gamers / the internet in general. In IRC, if you’re away from keyboard you’ll usually do /nick Ti-Ken-AFK to let people know you’re just idling and not really there, etc.

(twiFight) #33

then what would be the better term (fucking up the purpose of the thread now :))

  • saying AFK, while the player might still be behind his keyboard but just not playing the game

  • saying idle, while the player might not be playing the game but doing something else which makes him not idle

I demand a vote!

(Miles Teg) #34

I vote for pacbanpet!

(Possibly at computer but apparently not playing Enemy Territory)

(SylverDragon) #35

The real pain, is when someone calls for a vote to kick you, and says you are AFK, while you are, in fact, at your keyboard and actively playing the game. I had this happen to me over the weekend, some putz called for a kick vote on me and claimed that I was AFK. I sent a response along the lines of: no I’m not, you useless tit; though a touch more colorful. I got lucky and wasn’t kicked, but it sure pissed me off.

(twiFight) #36

is your sig in reverence to the Metallica song?
Come to think of it that would make good ET playing music

(Bongoboy) #37

Metallica?
When playing ET (or any other game for that matter), I prefer to have frantic banjo music playing.

It stops me taking it too seriously, and prevents blood spurting from my eyes when I get fragged by the same guy for the ninth time [mentioning no names, Salteh : )]

Also, it’s just really cool. In fact, I desire to be followed around by frantically duelling banjo players everywhere I go.

And I want a cookie.

:moo:

(twiFight) #38

Hey, you’re the designer.
Enemy Territory v1.03:

  • all new banjo player model
  • all players get banjo as weapon when going to lvl2 battle sense
  • new exhilirating banjo music

Oh and if you get spurting blood when getting killed then I’d suggest you get another job. I usually get killed 9 times by a teammate alone…

(Bongoboy) #39

We were hoping to save that for Doom 3 :weird:

:moo:

(twiFight) #40

Nah… high polygon count makes banjo players look gay
