So there’s Container City, SecTower, Acquarium and Reactor. Was Shipyard one of them?
New info
Seems QuakeCon last year had the most shown at it, they had SecTower and Aquarium there, they also released info about the medic mission etc… then nothing about either of those maps since.
Wait, which one is SecTower?
We played a mission on day two of the campaign called ‘Breakout’, in which the fighters were tasked with breaking into a security tower to rescue a downed comrade, before escorting him to safety.
Is that the one, or do we add Breakout to the list also?
Reactor was a bonus map, and shouldn’t count towards the map count.
Did anyone catch what Ed said in the Pixel Enemy vid about voip:
“What we just saw at this event was we found people that never played the game before, weren’t speaking to each other, but were cooperating in a really tactical way – now that’s really hard to do over the internet. But without any voip, although we do have that in the game, but only for your friends list, so you’ll never get anyone completely anonymous, just yelling abuse down your ear.”
What do u mean “bonus map”?
-Container city (Resistance in defense)
-Shipyard (Resistance in defense)
-Airport (Security in defense)
-Reactor (Security in defense)
-SecTower (Security in defense)
-Aquarium (?)
I see 6 maps so far.
I hope we get Reactor. They spent all that time building it, they’d might as well put it in the game instead of just for demos and stuff. 'sides, it looks pretty cool. >_>
But then, everything does.
“In addition to the sixteen core levels, there are four missions called “What If,” two for each side, that portray a little twist on the various storylines. Rather than telling the story from a faction perspective, the “What If” missions are “not really canon,” and let players see their factions be a little more extreme with their actions. That leaves open the possibility for more story-based missions in DLC, and while Ham said that putting in a new class would be a little much for DLC, “new abilities, new maps, new storytelling; those would be the things we’d love to see when and if DLC comes along.””
interesting
i was about to post the same thing as nail
Here is the link for anyone intrested:
"How many maps are there?
With the game spanning across eight different levels, Splash Damage makes a bold promise that they’ll all be unique. Having experienced Container City, an old shipping dock that’s seen decades of neglect, and another level which featured a multi-level complex, I can assure you these maps are not small."
Per side?
yeah, lol, blame it on wishful thinking! 8 just seems like so few from a single player standpoint I couldn’t get my mind around it.

I don’t see that as anything new, or contradicting waht they said before. My interpretation is he’s just talking about a default campaign server (they have already said before as soon as you add someone to your fireteam (aka tempory friend i guess) you get VOIP turned on with him. I’m sure there will still be able to be playnow servers with VOIP on for all.
So that bonus map thing underscores the review that said there were 10 maps per faction (2 bonus maps per side). I was assuming it was one of the maps playable only from one side (maybe they are, so those four maps maybe you can only play from one side.
So if that is the case, 12 maps, 8 playable from either side plus the four bonus maps, mayeb platyabe from only one side and maybe not)?
So then really we get twelve maps, playable from either side, which equals out to a grand total of 24 different missions.
Also, the fact that they want to add new abilities in their DLC leaves me all tingly with joy. More maps is great, but more abilities (and more weapons (crosses fingers)) would be even greater.
Debatable, I’m sure. :]
When Reactor debuted at E3, Wedgwood explained how it was not part of any of the Campaigns, and instead was a bonus mission that you unlock when you complete the Resistance Campaign.

Aquarium would be a Resistance in Defense map, since they appearently took a Founder as hostage
Oh yes, the SecTower Prison… Everything I’ve been asking for, for the love of ****, yes! T_T
EDIT: Think we will get new information today? > 2nd of March 2011 < I feel like they have been keeping us in the dark for too long, seriously
I wouldnt expect something new untill PAX, which starts next friday i think (is not that far away at least :))
Eh… Always something… Thanks for turning on the light in a dark room for me, Trigger
I hope we get some new videos out of PAXeast.
I also wonder when all of these gamer journalists played Brink. I know the NDA was lifted Monday, so when were the articles written? Have things changed since then? Is Brink still in Beta? How long does it take to actually publish a game? Brink is due May 17th or whenever. When does it to need to ship to the disc-writers? Do things need to be implemented for XBL and PSN?

I’m sure that SD and Bethesda have thought of these things
