In a movement to stop this thread turning into a “when?” thread etc., I’m going to use it constructively…

So 6v6 was voted the mode for this tournament, but in reality are there enough teams/players? There would probably only be 4 or 5 teams going by the number of votes, or 8 teams if all voters actually participate.

6v6 is probably my favourite to play, watch and admin so I really hope that 6v6 works out. But let’s say it doesn’t, let’s say it’s simply got to go to 4v4, what difference will that make in terms of people wanting to play?

Additionally, would anybody be up for a short duel tournament (I can provide some hardware prizes to top 3 easily)? I would like to test some stuff. If I get 16 players interested, let’s do it :slight_smile:

This is why I voted for 5on5 rather than 6on6. 4on4 just isn’t as fun and like Shifty said, we just had a 4on4 cup.

If I were to hold a 5v5 or 6v6 tournament, I’d want at least 8 teams to play. In all seriousness, how likely is that?

Test as in do a test cup for people to prove they are willing to play? Because if it’s just a test signup, then loads of teams can signup but I want at least 8 teams to actually play.

I see it as Rex. Let’s make a sign up, if enough Teams sign up (8 is a good number for min. Teams) we can go on from there and start the cup.

I know. But what do you wan to do? As I see it, we have 2 options:
Option A: You kill me right here right no… Oh wrong movie :smiley:
We do a sign up from which we go on and hope for the best.

Option B: We forget the cup because we will never get 100% sure sign ups nor will we get 8 Teams for sure.

Just had a look at the votes and I think we will get max 5 or 6 teams (based on the guys who voted). So we could try a sign up. Or give it up and it’s good too. We could try a Cup within the forums, which means no external page etc, just create a sign up post like for the drafts and from there on we will see. If many fake teams or teams like the one team in the 4on4 cup which signed up but tried to kill the mcp with knife sign up, we could delete them and see if enough teams are left or not.

And I’m not willing to play nor admin a 4on4 cup, we had one already :wink:

I see it like Rex and Shifty, we won’t really know who even has a want to play without some kind of sign-ups. I doubt most would play 4on4 since it requires far less teamwork than 5on5/6on6. The reason I want to play in Aris’ cup is because it wasn’t 4on4 so it would be refreshing. We should nag Anti to make an SD team so peeps would sign up :wink:

I have no problem doing a test cup with signups and see how it goes, but it won’t be all-singing / all-dancing like I had planned. So how about we do 1 cup as a test, then if it’s good we can do the REAL tournament?

Doing a test cup is a bad idea. Test signups ok, but if u will also play the test cup u wont get alot of signups for your “real” cup^^ The interest will drop after the test cup, when the glorious sound of “6on6” disappeared and the reality of an undead insane lagging game is back.

If u really wanna do the 6on6 thing, do one cup. Everything else will be a waste of time and a disappointment for the people who are organizing this…

I don’t think I’m prepared to waste time and effort for it not to happen. If people want the good cup to happen, they will play the test cup. This won’t be some 3-month long tournament like the last one here so people have nothing to fear in that sense.
