Oke may be stupid question but how do I install this on a linux server??

Old way was just to transfer files in directories then set a startup up line to ./etded

The readme is no help either.

A simple put this on server set startup line to…

would help lol

It is great if the key gen part works but I never saw any news about this till now.

Am I getting this all wrong,

readme:

ET repackaged installation for Linux (server / client), including etkey generator, current Punkbuster version (server / client)
and ET 2.60b patch

Hi,
a simple
sh ./et2.60b.x86_keygen_V03.run
with you ssh client will start the installation,since *.run marks an executable file.

Thanks so I put the file on a wiped server then ask GS to execute sh ./et2.60b.x86_keygen_V03.run.

Now if this is on the server will it generate an etkey for players?

Would be fantastic if that the case or is it only on client side?

Exactly, place the run file on your server,make it executable (chmod +x et…run) and start it.
The keygen is only able to catch a key (from etkey.org) when executed on the client machine.
So, the player have to download thekey by themself for playing.

jemstar, a serverside-only package will never be able to distribute etkeys to players if they use the vanilla ET client, not even an updated engine. You are going to need a client-side counterpart, and vanilla ET has never heard of guids. They were introduced by punkbuster and later on adopted by mods as permanent bans (and xpsave) needed a proper client identification system.

Is why I tried ETL!! That didnt go too well as GS have issues with it! But you get a GOLD STAR!!! Your set sv_wwwDlDisconnected “1” suggestion works a treat!! Now players with no_guid can now join together!!! Wootsa!!!

I have been stressed by this issue for years lol, and have posted about it before, maybe not here, I think on TB. But you are the first to suggest the dl setting…I would never have thought of that!!

foto123, if you wanna play ET, simply go to:
http://etkey.org -> http://etkey.org/pages/enemy-territory-full-install-windows.php
Grab the installer, run it as administrator and everything should work (at least if you`re using Windows)
