Oh sh*t.
Dirty Bomb is no longer free.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…

lets not spread fake news…
I don’t know about your opinion, but this is my speculation, and it’s not completely true, so just listen.

Nexon is famous of publishing free games, regardess of any reason. That is why Dirty Bomb was free to play. And that’s why I’m here ranting for some bullsh*t (yet awesome) stuff for months and it’s one of the reason why I’m playing DB (cuz I don’t have a single penny in my pocket).

Now, SD is taking ALL KINDS OF RIGHT relating to DB, that’s mean developing speed, marketing… and THE PRICE OF THE GAME ITSELF.

I get it, Splash need dosh to pay it’s employee and they need to survive by having money. But that means that not just me, but EVERYONE that played this game for FREE must PAY in order to continue playing. Sure, CODkids, hackers and trolls will be rare, but people that like this game, but don’t have money, won’t be able to play anymore.

“Oh, wait, you motherfcking cnt dck piece of sht”, someone said: " @RazielWarmonic told us that DB is free, even when Half-Life 3 come out. SUCK MY DCK MOTHERFCKER!!!"

Until you realize that Raziel is an Nexon employee. And she said it before this Thursday (or Friday, if you are living in Vietnam), the same day when SD raised The Finger in front of Nexon and took all rights. (Don’t take it seriously, that was an attempt to make my point climatic)

But I can be wrong. Someone from SD please tell me that Dirty Bomb is still free.

EDIT: Still waiting until someone comfirmed that DB will be free forever, especially from @stayfreshshoe and if he say it, I’ll just delete my post, because it’s just too damn f*cking embarrassing.

@stayfreshshoe If you are able, a comment on pricing might be helpful.

I personally believe it will remain free but I honestly have no idea on Splash Damage’s plans. i would guess they really have a lot going on in their minds right now.

Dirty Bomb was announced as a free to play, even prior to Nexon’s involvement in the project. That’s probably why they never received any offer from other big publisher, and why Nexon’s was not a bad choice, even though it’s more commonly known as P2W publisher usually here in Europe.

Why did SD want DB to be Free to Play ? Well, you should give history some credits. They’ve been great at doing this in 2002.

Pretty sure they stated the game would be Free to Play forever, on more than one occasion, (and also not that long ago) I’m not sure why we would expect that to change.

(The_N00Ba) #45

Like I said some place else, change is both fun and terrifying. I can’t speak for other people but I know that since I have some anxiety issues this change is unnerving me a little bit. Because of that I can understand why other people would question and fear certain things. It’s only natural.
On the other hand it is also exciting as some other people have already made it clear they are happy things are changing.

I’d buy the game if it dropped free to play, but I just don’t see the reasoning to do it.

They would have to restructure a lot of the game for it to work. Since you are buying in at the start just to play the game, a lot of the pay to advance methods would likely have to be dropped, like having to grind credits to unlock mercs and case and load out system.

There are a ton of Free to Play games out there, and they are doing really well. It seems to be a growing trend because it actually does see profit if the game is fun enough and has something for people to spend their money on.

It really is all speculation until SD chimes in though.
