(Mc1412013) #22

(Mc1412013) #23

That doesn’t seem fair. After all it is because of Nexon that we have Dirty Bomb right now.
Just because Splash Damage is taking over Nexon’s role doesn’t mean Nexon should be shat on.
This had to been in the works for a while raz seemed to be nonexistant more and more in here. And i lnew something was possibly up when they stopped live streaming together and the streams went down to one a week.

Gotta be too much $$$ paid to nexon. Sd may have progress may have been slowed by nexon. Or the chicken people dont like nexon or vice versa who knows.

Dirty Bomb existed way before Nexon was ever involved, we’d been playing for a year in Alpha
then…this forum will be shut down then?
What about the memes that accumulated for the past years?!
WATCH THE VIDEO. They said they’re going to MIGRATE it, which means it saves everything, and our accounts will be saved too.

@stayfreshshoe What will happen with the current moderation team ? Will we still be in charge ?

Anyway. Great news. Hopefully we will swim in new content later on. :p
We’ll be doing a review of mods, but more than likely we’ll keep you all on-board, and possibly recruit a couple more.
Oh!? :DDDDDD
I just got laid off yesterday, whole business got closed. Keep in touch. <3
Honestly, this is some of the best news I’ve had this week.

Crazy Idea, how about they give all of the older forum users with over 100 points A SIGNATURES!?

(M@rs) #30

will this game ever come out of beta?

(DankBeretField) #31

Oh sh*t.
Dirty Bomb is no longer free.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…
(cries)

(B_Montiel) #32

Caution : SD taking over dirty bomb does not mean this will accelerate development. This may have an impact on what they’ll work, that’s all. And during the first weeks it will even slow down the development as this taking over implies the server management.

When you manage 1 or 2 servers and can monitor them on your own, this is easy. When you have to monitor 100 of them with automatical tasks, that’s not the same thing. And there’ll probably be a phase of total stall in development because they’ll have to keep the same version of the game for remote server adjustments.

That’d be cool if they actually say where they are now in migrating nexon’s tasks and give us a rough schedule about this.

But there we are, a news that tells me SD can finally take fully control of the game, and to

actually treading it so serious that will have much more faster developing speed. I think I will

maintain current faith level and wait to see if there will actually be something that will gain

my faith for SD and Dirty Bomb back.

I feel like the impression of the video was that they are going to be hiring more staff and pumping out content, but I suppose its hard to say for sure without confirmation.

Considering they probably will have more money comes in and having full control, not so sure if this actually means same developing speed to you.

Explained how I feel when I was watching the video.

If they are still doing the same like before, not so sure if there will be any bright future for Dirty Bomb, after the new owner and more power to change the game. Having potential does not means bright future.

This is the best news, ive been with SD since RTCW competitive with teams like -X-, DR, AMISH, ( o )( o ), BYE, bunch of oldtimers, worked on the wildwestern mod and shrub OLTL mod for rtcw, then went into competitive ET for awhile, it sucked that those communities died down and didnt find an enjoyable fps until DB, spent several hundred on DB becuase i enjoy it soo much. I think with SD things are going to happen at a better pace and a better direction look forward to supporting the game again now that my unfair 15+ month forum ban from September 2015 is finally over by one particular ahole mod who would not stop harassing me with pms. Ill let that be a bygone, goodluck with the future of the awesome game!

(ttownjoe) #39

Does this SD take over of the servers, mean server pings may improve?.. i right in the middle of US- Tulsa, ok and can ping < 10-50ms in most games but DB my ping is 50-80

(B_Montiel) #40

That’s just assuming. What is real though is that they have close to no experience at all in server management, and everything related to publishing an online multiplayer game. If they need to stall games updates flow to have a same version of db running over significant periods of time to sort server issues, I better hope they’ll take it.

Publishing a game is not only a matter of putting your company name on loading screens, or at least in the relationship SD and Nexon seemed to have.

On the long run, I doubt it won’t be beneficial. But what I’m worried about is seeing many people going “omg omg omg lots of stuff coming”, but the true short term situation may be couple of weeks not to say months of no updates to deal with server and new ac adjustements and possible total denial of service like we had earlier this week.

I already forecast people saying “omg you deceived us no updates for 2 months” in april. But everything comes at a time and everyone should keep this in mind before getting too much excited.
