New crosshair ideas.

(SteelMailbox) #1

Post your crosshair ideas that you think should be implemented into the game.

I will start, I thought about mixing the brink crosshair with the dot and make it so that the circle will start from inside the dot and grow bigger and smaller depended on the bloom.

Some simple cross, missing a few pixels in the middle, so you can better see where you are aiming on distance.

I use mumble overlay for my crosshair. It’s nice and pink.

Brink crosshair for sure, I’d much rather have a circle than those 4 bars to tell me my aim is off.

But I also think the CS crosshair should be added as well.

The way I see it, it’s like this.

Layer 1, circle or 4 lines, or none

Layer 2, cross or dot. or neither.

Then allow us to change size, thickness, and whether to have an outline or not, or to allow static or dynamic crosshairs.

Bam, all the customization we’d need for now.

id like to see a blacklight retribution kind of crosshair along with the brink one

I need this.
I used to have a crosshair like that, using an Overwolf overlay addon, in another game, but I don’t wanna risk getting banned.

Use mumble! It wont get you banned, and you get a toggle-able crosshair. It’s wonderful.

I remember trying that too, but in the last game I used it in, it required me to run the game in DX9 mode to work.
I might give it another go anyway.

I always liked dot crosshairs for hitscan weapons and large circular ones for projectile weapons such as the grenade launcher/rocket launchers in other games.

These are from a custom crosshair pack for tf2 and i think the choice is great.

Seems like we are more or less all on the same page hu?
This is my custom crosshair I use right now (Note its a bit sharper original, must be the JPG compression). I’m using Rainmeter to get it overlayed. Wouldn’t mind if the circle would be dynamic and the color could be changed on the fly tho  .
Only bad thing about Rainmeter, it only works with borderless window mode. And it seems that Windows 10 is a bit more demanding in drawing windows than 8 lost a couple of fps this way.

(XavienX) #11

I feel like you should have way more customization abilities especially in this type of fast paced game.

(D'@athi) #12

At least as customizable, as the games, it’s customers they want to take over.
To be honest, everyone’s got their special crosshair-preferences, some are used more often, some are used less often to none, but the times are over to have to paint a cross @ your TFT, aren’t they?

People actually use circle crosshairs? How do you hit anything?

(Backuplight) #16

I’ve recently just switched to a pink medium dot using the in game settings. Didn’t realise for quite a while that the colour settings were hidden in the main menu settings, and that you had to do it whilst actually in a map. I’d like more options if just for the sake of options, though.

(Ghosthree3) #17

The ability to choose crosshair per weapon/type would be cool too.

simple point/cross/negative space in the middle is for precision aiming at a distance, large circle is for reflex aiming in CQC.

@Raw NP give me a bit to pack it all up and I’ll share it.

Eh, I seem to do just fine in CQC with a hairpin cross. If you shoot at anything smaller than the circle you lose accuracy. Seems like a bad trade-off.

Its a matter of preference @Ctrix
