simple point/cross/negative space in the middle is for precision aiming at a distance, large circle is for reflex aiming in CQC.

Eh, I seem to do just fine in CQC with a hairpin cross. If you shoot at anything smaller than the circle you lose accuracy. Seems like a bad trade-off.

Thats why you have a point or a hairpin cross or whatever in the middle. If your target is smaller than the circle you use that, the larger circle helps, atleast myself to a. not loose my aimpoint when things get hectic b. as a easy to see good, enough aim assist in close combat as soon as that circle is over an enemy I know I can pull the trigger.
Can also be super helpfull for the shotgun users I heard.
