Btw regarding mouse&kb/controller, then the menus are the most distinctive part. A pc-oriented menu will have multiple buttons/tabs etc all a single click away, but controllers require a simplifid version where you go up-down a list, then a sublist and a sub-sublist all seen on the brink vids.
Even if it’s not a port, such menu design only makes it smeel like a port and will be frowned upon by pc players.

It’s just the fact that no game can be successfull on all platforms by being nearly the same, a game should be radically different on all platforms to be even accepted.

it usually isn’t. PC games normally go right into the main menu from the start.

I normally say it’s so people don’t say “What happened?” After they go to the fridge to get a beer after turning the console on.

It’s also a bit of a CRT relic from Ye Olden Days… normally before the Press Start screen you have looping stuff, so it won’t burn into a monitor like a menu will.
