A new story entry has been added:
[drupal=687]New Brink Video Dev Diary Explores SMART[/drupal]

Titled “The Dawn of SMART”, the second Brink video dev diary is now available and filled with plenty of information about Brink’s freedom of movement system. Both Technical Designer Aubrey ‘Bezzy’ Hesselgren and Lead Designer Neil ‘Exedore’ Alphonso feature in this latest video and they’re joined by all manner of new in-game and behind-the-scenes footage.
Catch the video via the embedded version below or in HD over on the official Brink website.

If you missed last week’s diary, you can find that here.

I’ve been following these forums for a little over a year now, but i felt i had to make an account just to say how awesome this is. Brink: Taste the magic.

I see you hefty!

Nice vid. Just an idea, record some footage from your in-house games and upload it like a frag video? Every week or 2.

Haven’t been paying much attention to Brink, but this is looking good… Not just the SMART–which has always been impressive and interesting–but some of the apparent gameplay there, looks appealing. Looks like weapons have a good feel to them, as well as environments…

Nice video !!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice!, Really nice explanation of the smart button.
By the looks of it it really works like a charm.

Another brilliant dev diary, though the hands are still looking a little spazzy when climbing,

Hey, I guess they are working on a competition mod for brink after all!

Awesome video, cant wait to try it out.
Another brilliant dev diary, though the hands are still looking a little spazzy when climbing, :D
I’m not sure what’s wrong with it but I think so too every time he grabs a ledge. It’s irritating to watch but that could just be me.

Other than that, I really enjoyed that video. Looking fordward to seeing more.

Great video, the game and the SMART movement look amazing. That “taste the magic” line at the end is pure awesome as well.

There you have it… SD is located in heaven ( with all those shiny white walls)

Devtrailers are nice and the soundtrack for the game sounds perfect for the storyline !

(tokamak) #14

Oh I liked this one much more. Also, Aubrey is quite enigmatic, keep him in the videos.

(hideinlight) #15

This is gonna be a long painful wait for release after that vid…

(INF3RN0) #16

Looks great :), hip fiya ftw!

(AnthonyDa) #17

I really wonder what happened to the FPS in general which now forces you to stop moving, then scoping because you can start firing at your opponent in order to have a decent accuracy and a little chance to hit your target

(Loffy) #18

Really nice guys.

(DarkangelUK) #19

From a man that played it…

{sponge} hip shooting is plenty effective
{DarkangelUK} sponge, did you find you were out-gunned against ironsight when you were hip shooting, or did it feel quite accurate lik ET?
{sponge} DarkangelUK: i was never outgunned. in any scenario. ever.
{sponge} unless it was like 5 on 1
{sponge} but also close range you dont need ironsights

This Aubrey dude has a really cool awkwardness to him. I concur, keep him in the videos.

As for the footage itself, it was really nice to see some of the guns in action, particularly the hip fire action.
