New Bot for RtCW released!?

(Nothus) #1

This is amazing news - saw it on www.swertcw.com!!

I’ve downloaded it and played it, and while its not as good as humans, they give ammo/health, revive - EVEN tk revive intelligently!!! Freaked me out when a bot med actually tk revived me when my health got low!!!

They only play checkpoint, and mp_destruction is the only map supported, but he said thats only for the demo, and that more will be supported in future releases.

Author says its only an alpha demo - man if this is what he has to offer this early in the show, I can’t wait to see what he can do when it actually gets farther along!

Try it out, site is: http://fritzbot.bots-united.com

I started playing RTCW after ET - I was never really into FPS until ET came about. It’s a really class game, I’d love to see it make a bit of a comeback, do you think there’s any chance of that?

(BoomStick) #4

Nope. ET ruined RTCW. RTCW was a much better game.

(Vaibhav) #5

RTCW SP is just too good.

(BondyBoy007) #6

I noticed u had been playing a bit of single player RTCW recently

(BlackDeath) #7

Unfortunately, no. Most of the big clans either went to exclusively compete in ET, or dropped RTCW/ET divisions totally.

(Cerebrate) #8

Sorry, but… why the HELL would you want bots? Why not play against [quasi-]intelligent humans on the Internet instead?

when the server dosnt have peeps ob it and ur waiting

(BondyBoy007) #10

would be great to find some of those sometime

After playing ET primarily since beta, I’ve played some RtCW lately. (and I played RtCW for a year before ET came out btw)

I do find that RtCW is a more balanced, faster, and more skilled game. Being caught offguard or making small mistakes usually have much bigger consequences. And the spreads were bigger, so that was an important factor in gun fights. (hardly anyone bursts fire in ET cuz the spreads are so little anyways) And it was much harder for a medic to run away in a firefight. Turning your back is a definite no-no in RtCW. and the “revive first, fight after” action is not done as much in RtCW cuz you’ll most likely be killed in the process.

when I look at it, i think ET’s levels are overpowering. the rewards shoudln’t be that great. like field op level 1, you get mega ammo packs AND you can throw down almost twice as many packs?

It’s mad really tbh - the rate of fire and movement is different so that (for me anyways) it’s hard to switch from one to the other. RtCW still is the harder game of the two imo but ET has interesting maps and XP is quite cool.

The objectives are nice in ET, especially with the vehicles and stuff. Plus, the addition of the Covert Ops class makes all the difference :stuck_out_tongue:

Bots- Bah

Seems people who played RtCW before playing ET, prefer the original.

I played ET first, to death, before trying out RtCW. Hated RtCW, it had none of ETs charm, was like an ‘evil’ version of ET. Didn’t like.

For the record, RTCW:SP was way to easy. One head shot would kill most soldiers AND you could strafe jump just like in Q3A. Completed a few levels by only strafing.
Any one know if there is a World Record for completing RTCW:SP?

(Vaibhav) #17

hehe i managed to compelte the RTCW:SP on the hardest setting first time.

(eRRoLfLyNN) #18

That’s because you were cheatin’ like you always do. I can’t believe you don’t get kicked from servers more often man! :stuck_out_tongue:

(evilsock) #19

bandit5k - dunno about the whole game, but I’d be interested in seeing ppl’s best times for individual levels (with suitable jpeg to prove) - who knows, maybe one of us could set a world record

i cant wait for the degeneration MOD and tbh i think RTCW was much better, better play, better game, and better graphics
