NET_SendPacket: WSAECONNREFUSED, what the heck is wrong?

I’m having trouble with both RtCW and ET today. Everytime I try to connect to a server (via ASE), it just keeps going “Awaiting Challenge 1,2,3… etc.”, so I pull down the console and I see a page full of:

NET_SendPacket: WSAECONNREFUSED

Also, when I try to get a listing from the Master Server, I get that message too.

I was just playing fine and dandy last night, but having trouble today. suggestions?

i’m having the same problem tonight … i was playing fine last night but now i can’t connect to any servers

I had that problem when i hadn’t configured my firewall correctly. Try to disable any firewall you might have and see if it works. If it do, enable the firewall again and make sure that it allow rtcw/et to connect on their used ports.
