Need help with GTK Radiant

(phillid) #1

Hiya. This is a bit off-topic, but I’m making a map for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory in GTK Radiant 1.5.0, but I don’t know how to make objectives able to be destroyed by a satchel charge or dynamite. Could someone please help a noob out?

Thanks

Have a read of the various scripting tutorials out there (also, SD Radiant is recommended for W:ET).
PS. Post should really be under the editing section. The subject could also be a bit more descriptive and specific, too.

Scripting is done in python?

 xD
Nono, it’s just the name of the website.
You script your things in notepad or any similar basic text editing program (obviously not ‘word’)
and you rename the ‘.txt’ extension into ‘.SCRIPT’

save that file into your ETMain => maps folder
and run your map to see how your script is working

Be warned though, scripting takes a lot of practice (just like mapping), but it’s fun to see things work the way they should
Good luck !

It’s just that it looks quite python-like. It must be based off some programming language, to make executing the scripts easier. Surely ID didn’t write their own script interpreter (which would, however, be very cool!)

Also, I can’t find my old SD Radiant download links. Does anyone know where to get it now?

closest I have

Cool, thanks. It’s good enough.
