Ok, I’ve got this server, and I want to move it from the default 3 map rotation to 6 map. And yes, I did search the forums for the answer, but didn’t find anything definate. I need a simple step-by-step guide. Thanks
Need help with 6 map campaign!
I’m not exactly sure what it is but i think it has to do with your pk.3 files.
Since most of them are custum map rotations.

Make a text file (notepad works fine). Call it complete.campaign

Add the following to the file

Make a directory called scripts, and place the complete.campaign file in it.

Place the scripts directory into a ZIP archive. You can use WinZip, or even WinXP’s native toolset. Don’t use compression or any other options.

Name the archive something unique and change the .zip extension to .pk3.

Place this uniquename.pk3 file into the /etmain directory (or /shrubet, whatever gametype you’re running) and restart the ET server. Server will find your new .pk3 file and load it up.

Call the new campaign either using the Ref menu, or with the rcon command (/rcon campaign cmpgn_complete). You can also add it to the campaigncycle.cfg .
All clients that connect to your server will be sent the pk3 file, even if this specific campaign isn’t being run. But this file should be really small so you shouldn’t see any bandwidth hit. Still, be considerate and don’t throw up 60 different iterations of the pk3 file on your server.

Hmm sorry for being thick but I cant seem to get this to work…
I been trying to make a campaign to include some of the NEW maps out there…
Now i started out easy buy making the 6map campaign to a 5map campagin, now when it starts all looks good in that it starts off showing the 5 maps and the bit of writing i wrote but then on the next screen it goes back to the 6map version and the old file etc…
Questions
- What am i doing wrong
- Do you have to add anything to use the NEW MAPS
- What Is that “mapTC”

So long as the maps (or their pk3’s to be specific) are in the …/variety of et i.e etmain or shrubet/ folder… There is nothing “new” to add.
Be sure to give all campaigns a unique name (or ET gets confused - as do we all)
Also ensure that when you specify the map to run, you use the shortname (which is not always the same as the name of the pk3 :banghead: ).

Also, if you can find another server that has the rotation you want, use their pk3. I’ve got like 30 pk3s in my etmain directory because almost every server has their own.

There are some maps that cannot be used as starting maps in the campaign, specifically the maps that starts any of the default campaigns in ET, or any custom maps containing campaigns.
In case you have any of these as starting maps the server will ignore your rotation and only run the rotation within the starting map.
mapTC is the texel coordinate used to align the map in the loading screen. The map texture is actually larger than what is displayed. You can use this to center the map on your specific missions so they’re not all clumped at one corner of the screen. Although why they didn’t use this for North Africa is kinda beyond me.
I haven’t played with it much myself, but you could experiment and see what happens.
