Need help here!!! (shrub 1.2 and ET 2.60)

(Nocturne) #1

I administer multiple servers (on different hosts) and they all got a problem with shrub 1.2 (both test 12 and 13).

on 1 server it crashes at the last round of a standard campaign (goldrush in cmpgn_northafrica ) and on 1 server it crashes on a particular campaign that involes the supply depot 2 map. I tested supply depot 2 in other campaigns and it works fine… I think I can fix the last one, but what about the first problem (the crash in a standard campaign with the goldrush map)…

it really sux that the server crashes after 3 rounds…
any help with this will be appreciated.

btw: the server configs are similar to eachother only the names differ.

EDIT: Attached the ETserverlog file

(Nocturne) #2

is there nobody that can fix these problems?
Where’s Ryan when u need him grrrrrrrrrrrrr…

(EB) #3

ERROR: G_Script_ScriptParse(), Error (line 2207): unknown action: set.

did you change a script or do u have dual scripts on the server ? hmmm…radar. Where did I see someone else with a similiar problem…? ? ?? ?

(Nocturne) #4

No I didnt change the gamescript nor using dual scripts…
This problem occured directly when shrub 1.1b got upgraded to 1.2test13…
I talked to several peopel already and some say that shrub has issues that sound the same…

EDIT: Btw the server that has the most problems is running ETPub now, and that doesnt make it crash

(KillerWhale) #5

Common problem, your server installation misses the 2.56 radar script, the server will crash if it loads radar without it.
It’s easily fixed:
Open unpack the file “maps/radar.script” from pak1.pk3 (NOT pak2.pk3!) into your “shrubet/maps/” folder (make the folder if it doesn’t exists yet) on the server.
That should fix it, and it’s completely serversided fix.

(Nocturne) #6

Uhm, It didnt work…
I created a folder called maps in the shrubet folder and copied the radar.script file in there, restarted the server and it doesnt have any effect what so ever…

Maybe wait untill a good version of shrub comes out.

  :stuck_out_tongue:

([ToC]Death) #8

nail, dont mean to be rude, but u r always making fun of shrub, saying that it sucks, and its the dumbest thing ever. sumthing positive about it? i can think of many. Ryan invented shrubbot, is that one thing u like about shrub, or do u hate shrubbot.

(Nocturne) #9

I think I may have found a solution to the problem, but I dont know for sure.
I’ll try copying the radar.script (the one from pak1.pk3) file into a campaign pk3 and then Im gonna try it on the server.

(Nocturne) #10

that didnt work either, could it be that there went something wrong when the server company uograded their ET install?

(KillerWhale) #11

Hmm, the fix I posted before should work as there are many shrub servers on 2.60 that done that, but try this:
Take pak2.pk3 out of etmain (and where ever else you have it on the server) and see if it works now. You may lose so of the 2.60 script fixes but at least it’ll run.

(Nail) #12

nah, shrub is fine, unfortunately, it was abandonded, the things I don’t like about shrub are immature admins, and the fact that the only people who want to run shrub servers just want XP save forever, etpro gives you so much better control IMHO, but etpub looks like a good combination for pubs.

The thing that struck me funny, triggering my smiley display was the fact someone thought shrub would be updated, I don’t think so, but would like to be proved wrong

btw, I’ve never said shrub sucks or was dumb, the admins maybe

(KillerWhale) #13

Lol Nail, Foonr posted that there was a new shrub on ET.com http://enemy-territory.4players.de:1041/:

The reason I will need to take sleep medicine tonight is:

Shrub Mod has been

UPDATED

'Tis a joyous day for all XP whores and !revive-a-holics. Nocturne has revived the once thought dead mod, and brought out a new version. He has even gone so far as to bring in a new installer. Can you believe it? I can’t… And oh! Look what new tricks shrub has learnt:

Hitsound support
More admin commands.
Check the documentation file for all changes

The thing is only 2.2mb in size, so if you love your XP at ozone levels, this is the link for you: clickme

But don’t get too keen just yet. Nail told me how the new version doesn’t work well, and I can’t say I went as far as trying out the new version for myself, but to say the readme failed gives you some clue about how things might work. One thing is for sure, it isn’t shrub as we know it.

Personally, if you have to try a new version of ‘shrub’, go for etpub.

I just love unobjective news, especially because it’s fake… Lol this is just a new installer for the old shrub 1.2test13 version. It’s not a new version as it’s compiled 12 jan 2004 and it doesn’t have hitsounds built-in (only if you use a clientsided mod with it).
We’ll be having people shouting that there’s a new shrub with hitsounds for weeks, then they’ll be wondering why the hitsounds don’t work and spamming that here… Just telling you so we’ll be prepared.

(Nocturne) #14

hahaha I knew that there wasnt a new shrub update, but the 1.2test12 and 1.2test13 are the only versions of shrub that ET2.60 will run… at least I cant get 1.1b to work on 2.60

EDIT:
I renamed the pak2.pk3 file into pak2.pk3.bak so that the server cant see it. and guess what, it works, thnx dude… shrub 1.2 test 13 is now running.

(Nail) #15

Ya, I told him it was just an installer, and he said he’d edit it, but, who knows

(Jaquboss) #16

Nail is a bit subjective , he likes ETPro , but it isnt bad everyone likes something most …
I never saw any Nail’s post bitching shrub , he always just ‘shows’ that ETPro is better…
