download the game with patch supposally triedto join about 100 different games with no luck google,rc, ect,download the pks but always has a reason to not let me in the game what else do i need im starting to think this game is screwed use to never have problems playing years back

Since you most likely have used the official installer, it went into c:\Program Files\ well depends on your windows language, because of that you would need to start the game as Administrator. So that some files can be extracted for the mods and stuff. But its anyway a bad idea to use the game as Administrator. ET was created before Microsoft decided that programs need special rights…
So for other troubles which can arise, I suggest get this installer http://etkey.org/pages/enemy-territory-full-install-windows.php
Then install the game into c:\wolfet\
And enjoy playing et without troubles.
