Has someone already made a chart or graph showing nationalities for every merc? I would like to know this if I hasn’t already been done.

Why does it matter?

Proxy, Vasilli, Stoker, Skyhammer - British (Add a welsh and irish merc to make it complete SD :smile: )

Nader - German

Sparks - Russian?

Fletcher - Fletcher County, Fletchmerica

Aura, Fragger, Bushwhacker, Sawbonez - U.S.A

Kira - france…i kid…just don’t want to appear racist by giving a certain answer

Arty - Italian…

Redeye - Unpopulated Servers (If the aussie complaints are anything to go from) or High Level Land, Jobseeker avenue, as that is all they seem to play. (Nothing against our high level bretherin but they seem to stick to a safety net of which will grant them the highest K/D, in unrelated news, the new CoD has been released.)

Phantom - Lavender Town

Phoenix - Spain?

From looking at the wiki apparently rhino is welsh, so i eat my words, will be purchasing him now and playing him till the end of time, his accent doesn’t sound welsh though fix please SD ; ), I can provide replacement VO if you like but it will turn him from a gruff character into a whiny 23 year old who hasn’t hit puberty yet…ahem.

You can find most of the merc’s nationalities on their DB Wiki pages.

For example, most people think Vas is British but he’s actually Italian. "Vassili was born in Florence to the owners of a prominent vineyard. As a kid he was always withdrawn but around age sixteen he was sent to a boarding school in England due to his rebellious attitude. "

Kira is Japanese and Arty is Chinese, seeing they have vocal comments in their languages. Phoenix is from Spain, etc etc.

Don’t rely in the wiki page for factual information. Anyone can edit it, so it may not be true. Besides, the official Nexon site says nothing about Vas being Italian or missing the shot because of feelings.

Yeah, thats the fan made unofficial wiki. The actual wiki is the gamepedia one but that doesn’t have that many things on it and it doesn’t state any nationalities or anything

I personally don’t think it matters but I find nationalities very interesting and they add depths to the characters, not that lore effects the game at all but I’m just somebody who loves the lore

Yeah, um, Phantom is from Allentown Pennsylvania, and his father, Flyer, is from Philadelphia
Pennsylvania.

…If you know what I mean…

Phantom lived with his father in Philadelphia, then Flyer decided that Phantom needed to get his own place, so he saw this awesome place in Allentown Pennsylvania. Too bad it wasn’t built yet, so he lived in Glens Falls New York for a while before moving to Allentown.

I always thought Vasilli was Russian.
Because of his name, his background story with the heartless government that forced him to kill his own sister and the fact that he’s a sniper and I met quiet a couple of russians that loved playing snipers in online fps’.

Fragger is actually Canadian and rhino can’t be Welsh… I’m Welsh and he sounds nothing like me lol. Cockney accent would suggest him being English and from London. Pheonix confuses me because they say he’s Spanish but his accent and dialect is Mexican so I’m not sure there.

Mexico was a Spanish colony, thus the similar accent duh.

@ThaiSan Most “west people” think “east european accent=Russian”, like you would not believe how many people think he’s russian

  • Arty could be Chinese, however Mandarin is spoken in multiple countries including China, Singapore, and Taiwan.
  • Aura is assumed American. She has a thick Southern accent.
  • Bushwhacker is American.
  • Fletcher is Nigerian.
  • Fragger’s nationality is unknown but I believe one of the streams revealed him as Canadian. Not sure how canonical that is though.
  • Kira is assumed Japanese. However, someone jokingly claims her to be French and that could be possible, there is a large Japanese community in France. She could also possibly be Brazilian. Just saying don’t rule it out.
  • Nader is assumed German.
  • Phantom is assumed American. Let’s be honest though, Phantom is from La-La Land.
  • Phoenix is Spanish.
  • Proxy is British.
  • RedEye is Australian.
  • Rhino’s nationality is unknown. He doesn’t really have much of an accent.
  • Sawbonez is American.
  • Skyhammer is British.
  • Sparks is…unknown. I don’t trust that accent. Someone like her could easily fake a Russian accent.

  • Vassili is…? Hm. Doesn’t say in his profile but I could have sworn I read he was from Florence but went to a British boarding school before joining the military. Italian?

So by your logic Brazilians should sound identical to the Portuguese and American sound identical to British? Thats why I mentioned dialect, im not going to go into detail about what makes an accent i’ll leave that to you but your logic is incredibly flawed.
