NAT Router

Having real problems connecting to servers with this game.

In game browser can’t browse games…ok I use ASE, which see’s games fine but I can’t connect to the server…I just get an endless countdown.

Fine…so if I put my PC into the DMZ ie no ports blocked I should be able to connect…wrong. Same result I Cannot connect.

Only way I can connect is to unplug my NAT router and attach the PC directly to the cable. All works fine then.

So is there a problem with this game and NAT?
if so is there a work around?

Cheers.

port forwarding

Sounds more like a firewall problem than a port forwarding problem.

What router? I’m behind two netgears rt314s and I have no problems with ASE. THe only time I need port forwarding is if I am setting up a server.

D-Link DI614+
I’ll try port forwarding…that would mean that NAT screws it up though I guess

There was another thread in here about a DLink router w/ same issue ( DLink DI-804 ), it was an older model and was just flat out not working w/ ET. heres the thread http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1399

If youre trying to connect to PB servers, you may need to have it forward ports … I just went to evenbalance.com and they have changed the FAQ on which ports PB uses … hrm. They are now saying its the same as the game port – 27960/UDP. Used to say ports 24305 - 24349/UDP … hrm.

Which router are you using ?
