Nader or Fragger

I am doing my first cobalt trade up today because I finally have 6 gold cards. I have narrowed down which merc I want to trade up to Nader and Fragger. I play both of them equally, but I have more game time with fragger, but nader is also very powerful. Which one should I choose?

I’d go with Fragger if the difference if quite a few hours.

Nader, everytime. Fragger has more health, but Nader is actually good.
And that’s why you’re playing her. For artillery. To get rid of aura stations, and things behind cover in general.
What’s really Fraggers downfall is that his ability has a windup. You have to wait like 2 seconds between the point you make the decision to use your nade and when you can actually throw it. In the same time period, Nader has shot 3 grenades. And they explode sooner too. That’s less time the enemy gets to be alive.
Also I’ve rarely had that I was out of nades on Nader, while Fragger is just so slow in literally every aspect. Constantly you’re wanting to do something on Fragger but not being able to.

Nader has better reach too. You can bounch off walls and launch really far. If you’re moving, your momentum gets added to the grenade so you can shoot across the whole map and into windows, killing enemies you couldn’t even see.
Another thing, you can do staggered grenades, and just keep people pinned into cover until your team gets to respawn and run back to where you are. There’s just so much depth to Nader, when Fragger is like a tanky version of Stoaker. With less utility.


I just don’t play Fragger anymore, at all.

He obviously has gotten a lot less OP now that the frag grenade has such a small blast radius (compared to what it used to have), but he’s still very strong especially when paired with Saw’s packs.

Nader has more denial power with five (inferior) explosives, which gives her more consistency when picking healing stations in certain situations, but when it comes down to five man teams with more competent aim than twelve pub matches combined, Fragger is essential, while Nader is more of an add on.

Nader is better for pubbing than Fragger is because she can pick more low skilled players in less time than Fragger can, but Fragger is still stronger when in a team vs team game.

I will say that Fragger’s grenade has gotten rather small, but it’s still really powerful in comp games, so even if it doesn’t carry in pubs as well as the launcher, it probably shouldn’t be changed.

Yeah I havn’t been playing much ranked since they broke it last fall. I’ve been getting back in, but only played 8 games so far. Naders been fine, but it’s true that Fragger scales better against TTK fights. Which, I mean he’s tanky, and his ability is more burst orientated. So fuck

if you want stable play, i’ll recommend fragger.
because he have high damage frag and HP.
but if you want play active play, i’ll recommend nader.
because she have a grenade launcher and high speed.
choose between two mercs.

Fragger is fucking fun, there was this one time in a server and a guy on the enemy team was playing phantie, and every time he tried to melee me I just pulled the pin and held onto it while bunny hopping away from him until I suicide bombed him lmao it was fun.
Also fun to get a bunch of kills from timed nades, too, there’s also that.

Fragger is only good if you’re playing with a friend who picks a fire support merc. He’s good at sustained fire, but that doesn’t mean much when he barely carries enough ammo for a Roman candle.

Well if you play a burst and have a nice accuracy, you kill people much faster and way more efficiently than with M4 and K-121.

Sorry but that is BS , true he has low ammo on his K -121 but to say he is only good with a fire support is a little bit exagerating :stuck_out_tongue: You could say that about every assault without spares if you have a potato aim

Well, I play fragger for the K-121. He might be good with the burst or the M4, but then I’d rather play e.g. Skyhammer. K-121 is what makes him stand out, but the amount of ammo he does (not) carry is just ridiculous, especially in comparison to Thunder.

Fragger and Thunder work fine as killers, but again I’d rather have a Skyhammer or Kira in that role. It’s personal I guess, but versatility and speed beat HP and damage per shot in my opinion. What I pick Fragger or Thunder for is supressive fire and leading charges. In both cases I’m firing continueously at (groups of) enemies, soaking up damage, putting enough rounds down range to keep the enemies pinned, kill whoever sticks out his/her head, but mostly allowing my teammates to flank. I need that fire support purely for the ammo.
