My server doesn't show up on the list.

([ToC]Death) #1

I just installed the new patch (2.60). I run my server with the 2.60 patch, then I go into the game on the 2.60 patch. The server doesn’t show up? This applies for all of my clan members. Can someone help me fix this?

rented server or dedicated on your own network ?
Behind a router ?
Are you execing a server.cfg ?
Is it dedicated to the internet or lan ?
Answer all of the above and you will get better help.

Dedicate on own network, and this is what i have in the target:
+set fs_game ShrubET +set dedicated 2 +exec punkbuster.cfg +exec server.cfg +set net_port 27960 +set com_hunkmegs 64 +set com_zonemegs 32 +set fs_homepath 27960 +set sv_punkbuster 1 +exec server.cfg. I am behind a router (D-Link, DI-604). does any of this information help?

(Depth_Charge) #4

Did you make sure you properly forwarded the ports?

(SCDS_reyalP) #5

Is the server behind the router, and is the router doing NAT (aka internet sharing) ?

([ToC]Death) #6

I think I have it set up right. I have the D-Link - DI-604. Can you tell what exactly I have to do to set it up right?

([ToC]Death) #7

How do I make my router do NAT?

D-Link Tech Support’s Instructions

Make sure the private and public say 27960
And I think you need TCP and UDP

Edit: Not both just UDP thanks reyalP

(SCDS_reyalP) #9

You only need UDP.

I have a feeling the master will never list a server that thinks it is in a private IP range, but I could be wrong about that. In any case if you have forwarding set up, you can tell your clanmates to connect to your public ip. In general, running a real public server on a home connection isn’t a good idea.

What do I put for my private IP? and is protocol type UDP or TCP. both private port and public ports are the same? and do i enable virtual server, or not. do i need to set anything else up for my port to be forwarded so that my server shows up on the list?
