My map

Hello !

Couple times a year I get a need to make maps . This time I even managed to create something.I like sniper maps and apartment buildings , which I havent seen in ET before , so I did those. Also I have no talent , soo this it the only thing I can too . I put some brushes together in last couple of days and got this map , which I simply call Porn. It has about 80 000 bugs in it right now and I try to repair them in a week . I also need to do a base that can be captured and maps and stuff , but I have no idea what a script is . Hopefully someone can do those things for me .

I also once tried to do fully destructible map , but the game didnt have resources . So I added 4 small houses , which can be destroyed from head to toes (under the floor is the pool , where its possible to jump from the roof , to escape)You cant see them from the pictures.

I also want to make a simple mission ( each team has to steal 10 objects and bring them to their own house) , hopefully someone can help me with that too. I also have no idea how to make backround scenery.

This is how it looks like right now , really confusing and has bad paintjob.

Hey man, great work. I wasn’t expecting that much but you did more than I thought you would when I saw the pictures. And sniper maps have been created :P(for a very long time now) the only maps I havn’t really seen are TDM quality. And a whole map to destroy sounds very fun. And i’m not good at the scripting side. Good luck though!

Map looks quite good, some advices: compile light & vis (if your release your map but on screenshots of wip it looks good to) and make the terrain less flat. You can cut your terrain in triagles and drag the vertices so you get a waving terrain :slight_smile:

How do I cut the terrain into triangles and how do I compile the light and stuff so it looks good?
Also , Do you have any ideas how to make the backround scenery look normal. I just wanted to put fog on the edges but couldnt find any textures good enough.

Nice map looking there, but to make terrain in triangles then just make square and select “clipper tool” then put both sides that blue dot (diagonally) and press Enter, then just copy this (space) and controvert it :slight_smile:

Hope you understand.

Or you can use shift+enter to be faster,then you don’t need to copy/mirror the piece you’ve created… :slight_smile:

I tried to get rid of bugs but my computer crashed and I was too lazy to do it again so it has ˇ 14 billion bugs in it right now . I “finished” it to test it with my friends and i also uploaded it that some of you could also try it out. Theres no objective or anything right now . Just kill who ever you see.

It´s name is Revolver_beta1 or something like that , I can´t really remember.

I´s only 4.5 MB

I checked it out and here are my comments:

  • Next time, watch that you include all the shaders/textures needed: some places are black/yellow now
  • Compile lightning & vis so it’s all looking good (with light too)
  • The sides of the water you should texture water_nodraw: now it’s flashing if you move the screen.
  • Try setting the mapcoords, so the minimap will correspond to your player position.

Very nice map, for your first one!

You should really do what Paul said, and also clip your models,they are not solid!
