My Biggest Disappointment

(Jess Alon) #162
I don’t claim to be super-mature, but I do point out when others are being malicious and immature themselves when we should all be discussing things with civility.

I don’t praise myself, and you wouldn’t be able to find a post of mine that would back up that claim. Sure, I make the odd sarcastic comment, but then I’m constantly bombarded with personal attacks and it can get a little bit trying.
Ok. Below here is at the top of this page. I can dig through your history and find more for you, but I think you’re a little dense honestly. I’m trying to be helpful and let you see that you’re not helping anyone.
Some people need to realise that there’s a big difference between backhand comments and being legitimately conflicted regarding being a fan of a thing and concerned and disappointed at the state of its development and the way the devs have handled it all.

It’s a maturity thing.
You come off as a condescending person. If I was on PSN. I sure wouldn’t play with you. And with how annoying your posts are I wouldn’t be surprised if people on this board had you blocked on PSN. I don’t know if that would effect you finding games or not, but it might. I know I wouldn’t be caught dead on the same fire team as you, because you show no respect to the regulars or the developers. And you act like you know everything. And I don’t associate with people like that.
People can report him for consistently derailing almost every thread on this board and trying to draw attention to himself. He can get infractions for that kind of behavior. It’s just as offensive to some people as being rude to some people. But he seems oblivious. At first I thought he was especially disgruntled but then his posts started to seem like this.
Have never reported a person ever on an online forum, online game, or anywhere else online where people gather to talk. I myself have been reported but usually by oversensitive people or those who were smack talking back and just had to get even in the end after a verbal ownage.

Lol I feel everyone and anyone should be able to say for the most part what they want and not be penalized but i do agree that annoying spamming and repeatition is something that really does get in the way and effect the flow of a thread much more then someone cursing or personally attacking (which in most cases if it has no justifacation those around will jump in and defend usually sending attacker away with tail between legs).

But yeah no way i am ever reporting anyone ever and i hope others give me a free pass rather then take a cheap shot when they dont agree cause i am sure there are times i cross the line. Would rather we all just get together and let him know how bad its getting and come to a compromise and get back to constructive positive talk.

Yeah I can understand where you’re coming from. But that guy hasn’t listened to reason yet. He thinks everything is up for debate.

(fearlessfox) #165

And you’re an absolute hypocrite.

I could pick out a dozen posts from you that are steeped in condescending tone.

I could also pick out a dozen posts that are maliciously tinged and slightly spiteful.

Let’s not bicker any more, please. If you don’t like my posts just put me on ignore and advise others to do the same. At least be honest with yourself.

(Oschino1907) #166

I agree and as of late with everyone having something to say to him about the same thing and him still going on and on while attempting to defend what he is doing is def getting very close to the point of delusional. I have pretty much come to the point of just not saying anything to him as its like talking to a brick wall.
I think I did get a quality product. I was so hyped about Brink I purchased three copies (and gave two away as gifts) for the pre-order bonuses. An XBL friend randomly game me the fourth (therefore, I have all pre-order bonuses).

I think I got a great game. Bethesda is a great publisher, arguably the best in the industry in my opinion. This game will be supported by Splash Damage, for whom this is literally “their baby”, and by Bethesda. Together they have already revealed that the first DLC will be free.

Wrinkles are being ironed out (360 patch was available this morning), and will continue to be ironed out as more patches come our way (for example, along with the DLC next month). I do kind-of wish that more people were hanging around to play the game, but those that do hang around are going to be some quality folks.
Wow, you are soaked in DENIAL! I mean denial written ALL OVER YOUR FACE MAN! :stroggbanana:
Honestly i think they were waaay to hasty. This game shouldn’t be out yet. They might as well send the IDEAS for the game to the store because this game is an unfinished mess! Everyone is waiting for them to finish it through patches, but you think you got a quality product!? Your probably broke for buying stuff you see on T.V. and the people you got those games for probably HATE you right now… lol

The PC version is fine, but I don’t own an ATI card.

However, the console versions… I agree they were not ready and visually decent enough for a competitive FPS game released in 2011. Graphics should be much sharper and running at a proper resolution, with less details if necessary, but it was their decision… maybe not the best one.

I think that $8 game on PSN actually look much better than Brink in many ways and it’s certainly not the best looking game.

http://youtu.be/Dwpm31j5YGs

I am not saying that it’s a better game, but simply that somehow… the compromises made gave in results a better looking game on consoles. Brink is a lot detailed, but the low resolution, blurry image and lack of anti-aliasing screws it entirely.

patch should have arrived for you just after your last post

It wasn’t a lie. They said SP and MP would be merged together to essentially be one in the same - and it is exactly that, seeing how the only difference between the 2 is whether you play with/against bots or human players. I and others, knew that the single player in Brink would essentially be like the single player portion of UT3 - bot matches with story/cutscenes tied in.

Just because you were disappointed with it, doesn’t mean the fault is on them. Perhaps it was just your lack of understanding of what it was Splash Damage was doing and your excitement and looking forward to something that was never there, that led you to be letdown and put the blame on SD.

(morguen87) #174

^Uh…you just admitted it’s already been done, how does that make it revolutionary?

Not that I was expecting anything more, but you can’t say it’s revolutionary and also say it’s essentially UT3.

I think the problem is bots don’t wow people anymore. You can’t just throw bots in and claim it blurs the line between single player and multiplayer because that’s just not true. If this was 1997, maybe, but hell I remember downloading a program to play against bots in Quake 2 before Quake 3 was even released.

(fearlessfox) #175

Are you being honest?

Watch the previews, Splash Damage make out like their SP mode would be some kind of revelation. They hyped it up to be more than HvB, and even though people should be wary of hype, expecting a strong SP when the devs claim over and over that SP will be just as strong as MP is not an unreasonable expectation.

(GlobalWar) #176

Fearlessfox, just put you on ignore list. You spam about 25 messages a day and I think none of them is positive. My advice to you, put Brink aside for a few weeks and then try again or just return it and go on with your life.

This. The SP/MP is just what I was expecting from the numerous previews and interviews I watched. What I expected I received, and it is fun.

It’s not essentially UT3. It follows a similar story format because it’s meant to be played online with people. I remember when I played UT on 360 and I was blown away by it. The fact that I could play with a mix of people and bots and that sometimes I couldn’t tell the difference.

What were you expecting out of the bots? Did you want them to ask you about your day? They do all the stuff they are supposed to. They drop mines under the objective for you to step on when you go to capture it. They throw caltrops. They cook grenades and then throw them on hard difficulty. Light bots get the jump on you from above.

I think that sometimes people are mad that they are getting bested by these bots honestly. I know they can do quirky things like random headshot you. But seriously the game is all about the game play. Which when you have a full team is downright immersive. So in the end. What’s really missing for you?

I never said anything about it being revolutionary. I simply explained what it was SD did, revolutionary or not.

Also everyone needs to rep HORSE until he has 5 stars because I feel weird having better rep then he does.
