I’m not viewwhoring here I’m asking for honest criticizm on my videos, if they suck… be honest about it, if they’re OK but I can improve on anything let me know.

My mic is a £10 mic so it’s understandably not the best quality but I do spend quite a bit of my free time creating these video

Keep being sexy, folks! Oh. And I know I’m not the best at dirty bomb, I just enjoy the game and I was hoping I could get other people to enjoy it with me! B)

I’ll be removing any negativity that is not negative towards the video in this post.

To be honest, would I watch raw things more likely that your video. Generic dubstep (which I can’t stand as a “music” type, but thats personal), bad audio quality.
Videos wont be better just because someones commenting/running music, they can be even worse than raw things, because, like I said, personal preferences in music, etc.
Sure, a commentary can be entertaining and make the video more valuable, but I believe people watch a “dirty bomb video” for dirty bomb, and not for a music track. (Maybe some people may have a different POV, but that’s mine)

#1 it’s not dubstep. And it’s original music created by my brother in law, it’s not generic.
#2 the audio is close to perfect considering I don’t have proper recording software
#3 that guy really did suck, there was no need for him to be a complete dick because I had an opinion on his videos. It was constructive criticism and he decided that he didn’t like taking advice from people and acted like a 10 year old child.

So, I commented on someone’s video in the creator section of the dirty bomb forums. It was litterally just him playing the game with game sounds, no mic, no music, nothing. I told him honestly that the video sucks without any use of editing or commentary or music (which is fair enough, in my opinion.) and now I’ve become under fire for it

Of course a gameplay video doesn’t suck just because it’s not been edited! Editing can elevate a video but if the video itself isn’t good then it doesn’t do much to improve that.

I’m not sure why you decided to share that you left a harsh and questionable comment on someone’s video and then go on to say how they did the same to you to point out your double standards.

If you want to promote or get feedback on your stuff then do so but leave the mud slinging out of it.

If you do not agree with me that this video could do with some music or a commentary then you need to get your head checked. I was being nice to the guy giving him constructive criticism. I’ve made this post to set things straight because there’s no need for saltiness in this community.

I understand that my videos aren’t in everyone’s taste but I’ve actually had people in-game recognize me and tell me that they enjoy my videos, so they can’t be that bad. (allthough they are)

And Karma? What, a few dislikes on YouTube which I couldn’t give two flying fucks about? I’ve made this post for honest criticism on how to improve my content, not for people to come in with shabby one worders which are most likely going to be removed by an admin for spam.

If you don’t have anything to comment on about the video (which is the whole reason for this topic) then don’t say anything at all.

As I said, bad, good, anything you’ve got to say just say it. But don’t come in with shitty comments like “Karma” because that’s the kinda shit that pisses me off.

I clearly stated that I haven’t made this post to promote my video, it’s just for feedback. I’ve posted the original video that I thought was a little boring and when I made a comment that it’s pretty boring the guy got butthurt and started abusing me, Hence the reason I gave him the harsh comment.

There is no need to be a complete and utter arsehole when someone is trying to help you. I’m just saying.

If you actually spent the time to watch the video you would understand where the video title comes from.

I also clearly stated that it is dirty bomb footage in the title. I don’t see what the big deal with that is. (It was a joke, more than anything.)

I was simply outlining some of the sucky people we have in the dirty bomb community. I was merely giving him some pointers to improve the quality of his videos. (Not that I’m anyone to talk about video quality) - He took it the wrong way and acted a complete and utter dick to me. I’ll edit the post and remove the parts where I “pour dirt” on him as you put it. And I agree. I was being a massive dick and I apologize for that.

I suppose in a way you really were.

On topic though, putting music on top of your videos is a risky choice. People like a wide array of music. The electronic genre, though much larger than it was, is still not main stream. You risk turning away a lot of people who don’t like the music from watching your videos.

I’ve seen it done successfully before. My youtuber friend did that. But he also spent a huge chunk of his time finding banging songs to set moods for commentaries.

It’s something you have to really consider.
