I never claimed to play the game well, nor did I straight up tell him that he sucked. If he wasn’t rude to me, I wouldnt’ve been rude to him. Simple. If someone wants respect then they must earn it. Is that not the way you were brought up too?

EDIT: I did originally tell him his video was good (eventhough I genuinely didn’t think it was, I was just being nice) then he decided to insult me, dislike all of my videos which I spend atleast 4-5 hours a day rendering and uploading and then proceed to tell me to “fuck off” - How else was I meant to respond to that? I could have done the civil thing and ignored him but I decided that’s not the right thing to do and I made sure I made that cynical guy feel like crap. (Because why the hell not?)

I suppose in a way you really were.

On topic though, putting music on top of your videos is a risky choice. People like a wide array of music. The electronic genre, though much larger than it was, is still not main stream. You risk turning away a lot of people who don’t like the music from watching your videos.

I’ve seen it done successfully before. My youtuber friend did that. But he also spent a huge chunk of his time finding banging songs to set moods for commentaries.

Thank you very much! This was helpful to me. I’ll most likely just re-enable in-game music and allow that to be used in my videos. The music was due to my mic (It had a lot of static in it) which I have now fixed. It saves time in the edit removing the music too. I guess I should keep the music for any footage I record without a commentary.

I generally show people respect to start off with. If they don’t return that respect then I will no longer respect them. It’s just the way I am, the way I will always be. I can’t help myself :slight_smile:

If you’re trying to get people to agree with you you’re going the wrong way about it. Have you actually read anything in this thread? I saw the video on the fan creations section of the forums. I then clicked his name. I then proceeded to click message. Then he proceeded to click “reply” - this magic little button that’s actually on the forums, by the way… then he was a dick to me. So I proceeded to return to the original thread where I saw the video to reply in the most marvelous fashion I could think of. By merely telling him his videos suck! How nice of me to go into full detail for you so you can understand. If you’re gonna be a dick do it correctly next time.

By asking the internet it’s opinion and for feedback you have opened yourself up to being criticized. You sometimes flat out deny criticism and other times attack it like they are trying to attack you. This is a no-no. You asked people for their opinion. You can not get upset at people for expressing their opinion.

Moreover you seem very cocky of your abilities while asking for assistance. This is also a no-no. Makes you seem like a total douche.

If you are a total douche I have bad news. Youtube probably isn’t for you. This forum probably isn’t either.

The music was free music (It’s my brother in laws, he makes it… I was just trying to get him some followers personally.) but yeah, I take note of the music thing, I’m just gonna remove music from the videos as a whole, it’s easier. I can’t think of much music that everyone likes. I mean there’s “let it go” but I’m pretty sure that’s copyrighted :#

It kind of is though. What people view you as a person determines if they will watch your videos or not.

If you come across as arrogant and angry except to the people who agree with you then people won’t want to watch you. Regardless of how good you play.

Moreover the community where you have to build relations and ties with people to build your sub base at the grassroots level is really damaged and you’ll find your ability to grow diminished severely.

I’m sorry, what don’t I get? I clearly stated that I saw the video on these forums and I messaged the guy (as I do with everyone) that his video’s are alright but they could be improved in a certain way. He replied with a really idiotic remark to which I replied on the original thread where I saw the video.

The whole reason people post in “fan creations” is to get an opinion off people. I don’t generally like to state my opinion in the comments, I’d rather message the person because sometimes it’s something they don’t like to hear and I don’t want everyone else to see what I thought. Most people understand this but you guys are really struggling along with this one.

Step 1: Go to fan creations
Step 2: Click on a thread
Step 3: Watch video
Step 4: Message person with what I thought because I was being nice.
Step 5: Receive moronic reply
Step 6: Shut man down
Step 7: Make thread here
Step 8: Try to make people understand
Step 9: People still don’t understand
Step 10: Rinse and repeat
