My 2 cents!

Love the game it’s fun, needs some fixes, many glitches!

But i more upset that after reading in these forums that the source code will not be released for anyone to make mods and such really tops it all!

It would be nice to see shrub on E.T since it offers better options for server admins and players. Why you guys packed OSP crappers in this game is beyond me! It doesnt do any good except limit panzers :frowning: and why any server admin would limit those is beyond me too since they are part of the game and were part of the war as well!!

Anyway not releasing source code just because it was free is lame and will be the death of this game!!! If half life and all the rest stayed the same and didnt let people make mods and such they would be dead too!!!

Its not the players fault that it was free matter of fact i had my money ready since it was announced it release the first time around!!! I reserved a copy and everything! So if it the money part here take my 30 bucks (that i was told it would cost when it was released in stores by the store itself) and release source codes!

Dont tell me not to complain since it was free either cause we are the life of any game and when makers pack crap programs with the product (OSP) which limits any growth as for shrub or bani since no mods can work together!

Any way great work on the game like the ideas of XP and the multiple objectives and the classes and weapons all that is cool just the limits you guys are putting on this is really lame! then saying this is what we get as players since it was free like it was our fault!

I just hope this version of wolf lives for a long time! Hate to see limits put on something with great possiblities.

Errmmm… you ever played a clan game of RTCW?

OSP may not have all the features shrub has, but it IS a good addition.

  • Panzers limitable
  • /ready’s needed before round starts
  • Competition/pub settings
  • stats tracking for kills/deaths/damagegiven-recieved etc

…and so many more features that vanilla RTCW lacks. Makes sense to me that the developers just chucked OSP into ET rather than re-inventing the wheel and coding it all themselves.

Sure it’d be nice to have options over underwater revives, telling medics/LTs etc where the nearest revive/ammo needer is etc, but OSP is DEFINATELY a good addition! Shurb has features++ - but it actually CHANGES THE GAMEPLAY. OSP doesn’t change the gameplay - it simply adds a number of powerfull tools for admins and players alike.

Yep, OSP is the most popular mod for RTCW, and at least goes some way to helping E.T. become adopted as a Clan game (which is the one thing it must do if it is to survive).

However, whilst OSP may be the most popular mod, Shrub and Bani have their place and provide server admins with other options. They only change the game if you want them to.

To me, the biggest draw-back with no mods being made for E.T. is that I doubt we’ll ever get an option to switch off the XP system. That may be the thing that kills E.T., certainly as a Clan game. And if E.T. doesn’t make it as a Clan game it’s dead anyway.
