Multyplayer (PC)

(Corupt) #1

Hi everyone !

I was wondering how the multylayer platform would be organised , I read somewhere that there will have something to do with steam … So I would like to know if it would be something more like css or codmw2 ?

PS : if this topic has already been discussed please tell me so and show me where to go to have my answers ^^

You can start playing the campaign in single player mode while leaving the “door” cracked open so any1 can jump in and then you start doing co-op, later on you could be playing an 8 vs 8 match or 4 vs 4 with +4 bots on each team.

the game ranking system works for all servers and modes (I suppose) because the more you break down the player’s base into different ranking systems and exclusive playable maps the multiplayer community gets more far from each others gameplay styles and stats.

there’s all kinds of good info here thought: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21998

At the top right of the forum headers, there’s an option called Search… that should point you in the right direction.

Multyplayer?

Try spelling it “multiplayer”.

GRAMMAR N@Z!
TAKE THIS! covers YSP in maztah & chill pills

(Nikto) #6

yes, everyone tactfully ignores it, and then (a week later to boot), someone bumps a thread just to say multiplayer isn’t written correctly…

Yeah, that’s the exact attitude that causes our kids to grow up ignorant. Needless to say, we really need to reintroduce spelling skills into modern education.

Oh sorry. I meant to say “Yeh, thatz da exakt addidude dat cozzes er kids 2 gro up ignant. Needluss 2 say, we kneed to reentrodoose speling skils indo moturn ed-u-kayshun.”

not that i know much about that kind of talk, but that didn’t sound quite correct.
and who says the person in question has english as main-language? or even second language?
perhaps the person just picked some english here and there, but i think in cases like this a more… personal approach would be the wiser choice, not telling someone he’s wrong where, in theory, the whole world can read it. and certainly not in a topic that hasn’t been touched in a week.

Section IIe I think would answer your question.

Because you fail to understand the commentary it provides. There’s more being said than “spell stuff correctly”. A new thread was created for this incomplete question. So it’s more like “learn to communicate in writing else no one will want to spend any effort to try and understand you.” If someone is asking for something it should be appealing to answer. It not only shows respect, but that they are capable of forming a meaningful conversation to the follow up answer. It’s like mumbling, you don’t hear or understand the speaker and they continue to mumble so you stop caring.

well its not like he misspelled it horribly so your like “What!?!” and its only one letter. i dont really have a problem with people who correct others persee, but that was the only thing he posted for and it was such a miniscule thing. plus i had just gotten off oblivion and im always cranky when i have to get off. :frowning:

“You’re”

Sorry no more, I promise (I’m certainly not one to talk about other peoples spelling or grammar)

(madoule) #12

there’s tons of european’s aroud, don’t you think it may have been a typo.

lol DAUK, thanks for resizing

More to the point… I’ve just come on here after not checking it for 10 hours, and there’s been at least 3 instances to far of this forum noob being arrogant… Baby steps buddy.

(light_sh4v0r) #15

My thoughts exactly.

(Auzner) #16

Apparently you do. Because then more than 10% of your posts are worthless juvenile commentary on it. I don’t mean to be analytical and elitist but everything presented itself right here and it shows what a hypocrite you are. You understand now that parroting what you see at other forums doesn’t get you props everywhere. Even if it’s sarcasm it’s still worn out sarcasm. Just be yourself.

This door cracked open. This is something that is already in the console games. See for example the game Halo. We all know that the matches created on consoles are running on people there consoles. There are no dedicated servers running this. And that the server (console) will change among the players when one leaves.

If this is done in Brink for the PC. Then I have only one game to campare it to. Aliens vs Predator did the same thing. And that game didn’t last that long because of that so called feature (missing dedicated).
Can you explain to me how this is done, since there are decicated servers but I think you as playing singeplayer are not part or connected to the dedicated servers. And 15 other people connecting to your PC could give some horrible play (lag and other problems etc.)

(If I look at the gameplay video’s and read about the features. I feel the focus of this game is more for the consoles than the good old PC).

(Zanchile) #18

well that is because i dont post a lot here. being that sd is a mainly pc company, most people here are on pc. the topics i go to either arent interesting to me so i dont post, or have people talking about various pc elements that i dont understand since i am on xbox. so of course when someone posts something i understand and find interesting i’ll post on it. therefore i have more posts about this topic. and ten percent if my posts is like 2.5 percent so its not like i have to try hard to get 10% worth of posts on a topic. but i guess i was a little juvenile and should have been more mature about adressing what i saw as a problem.

(tokamak) #19

So this is what happened to the Bethesda forums?

(Zanchile) #20

nah, mostly because the flow of information has slowed and there are tons of new people who post the same topic over and over.
