thanks sickboy… i lowered my fps from 76 to 43 pmoved and retried it… it works now.

I’m pretty glad that eventhough it’s possible, it still remains quite a challenge… especially on oasis… still think the right way to win is by the aid of a covertops

i dont see why the mappers let stuff like this happen, why dont they test things like this… ok its fun to watch but it can be annoying when people do it online

everytime I reload a server my pmove_fixed = 1 will go to default of 0 I have it set as seta pmove_fixed 1 in my etconfig in profile fodler and etconfig in main folder but whenever a new map is loaded it automatically loads 0 for pmove_fixed does anyone know why this might be or how to solve it?

I had this in RTCW sometimes, don’t know why…

You should bind it to a togglekey, like:

set fixed “pmove_fixed 1; echo “pmove_fixed 1”; set pmovetoggle vstr notfixed”
set notfixed “pmove_fixed 0; echo “pmove_fixed 0”; set pmovetoggle vstr fixed”

set pmovetoggle “vstr notfixed”

bind p “vstr pmovetoggle”

Having pmove_fixed on causes lots of problems

  • riding the tank you can’t aim anymore
  • leaning becomes very choppy
  • at the start of the map your crosshair goes up to the sky
  • sometimes airstrike/smoke canisters won’t throw, panzer won’t shoot
  • I’m sure I’m forgetting something else important :slight_smile:

So better is to turn it on when you need it.

thank you strange aswell cos I use p as the start of my binds lol goes p then next bind on o etc =P , and yeah only use it on oasis so script is perfecto :drink:

was just wondering though, ever since the full version was released, i always thought nade/cannister jumping was removed. i only ever play on gamearena servers and atm its not possible to do, the explosions simply just dont ‘push’ you anymore.

is it simply a serverside cvar we’ve disabled? or was it removed?

Like OMG :eek: Those jumps are stupidly, amazing. :rocker2:
Like how much FPS was needed for most of those jumps? I can only get 43 FPS, damn 64 meg gfx :banghead:
And also the grenade/sachel charge keeps blowing me up! Which is annoying…
And um one more thing, do any of you know a good online guide to tweak FPS? Could really do with one, running outside into a huge war, and getting about 10 fps isn’t the funnest of things.

Anyways, WELL DONE SICKBOY, I hope you make a third one!

the reason satchel charge is blowing you up is because of a server setting lol sicne playing pubs I’ve only joined one server where you dont get hrut off your own andes etc and thats the way most these jumps are performed (unles I’m wrong and sickboy has super human endurance) lol but friendly fire you still get hrut from your own weapons you need to find a server where you don’t then you can try some of these

No , when I performed them I got normal damage from the explosions. Whether the explosions move you or not seems to be a server setting.

I thought pmove_fixed works only when its set to 1 on the client and on the server (see this link). And the default server setting is 0.

SickBoy, have you yet found is the setting default or not? Nowadays I can’t find a single server that would have this explosion movement enabled :confused:

strange… unless msot servers I go to have it enabled all the time but theres deffinatly a difference when I enable it in any of the servers I go to, and that link said best fps is 125 yet most other says its 43

You can check server cvar setting with the PB_CvarVal command:

You can use pmove_fixed on any server in ET, doesn’t seem to matter what the server setting is (afaik). I think it just sets a default if you don’t have a pmove setting in your own config. Correct me plz if i’m wrong.

125 fps is better than 76 which is better than 43. I know this for sure, some jumps are impossible at 43 fps, hard but possible at 76 , and reasonably easy to do at 125.

it also depends on what kind of jump you’re trying to do…

if you’re aiming for more height…76 will give you more height on your jump than 125…but 125 certainly gives you much more distance.
