Mouse

dont give up on finding a g3.

remember the huge skates and the mouse4 and mouse5 in oposite sides, meaning you can press both at same time when required.

I dont actually own a xai, but the OP wanted something similar to his G3
Got a G500 which needs replacing atm, but when it works its really nice. They put the DPI buttons in a convenient spot next to mouse1, which are great for binding nades to. It has that etqw feel of throwing them, in bad games like blops etc

edit: its ugly as fuk tho

Yeah I think I have decided to give the version of the G3 from Japan that the Aussie is selling as well as the Xai, and if neither of those work I shall be using a gift card I have to get the Deathadder and hope that it works out for me.

For those of you who may be thinking why I didn’t just try replacing the mouse wheel in the G3, it’s not exactly the mouse wheel that is broken, but the mount which I can’t see any way of replacing.

Yeaaaah easy for the xai!

I think Xai probably will fit to everyone’s hand and that’s one of the most important things. Before Xai i had really bad cordless mouse, so i don’t have experience of other mice. But so far i like (<3) Xai.

Can’t you fix the mount with superglue?

Ive had them all…well, anything optical. Laser mice blow. Yes, that includes the Xai IMHO. The Xai is very picky about pads. I was excited about the Xai when it was first released. Nice shape but the thumb buttons on the right bugged me.

The older 3g deathadder is nice. I used one for ages. I hear the new ones have sensor issues. My 3g Deathadder seems to have a really good sensor. The “eye” can be totally full of dog hair and it still tracks. One little tiny hair in the Xai sensor and it skipped. I couldn’t finish a map without the Xai sensor skipping…yes, even on a Steelseries Qck+ pad.

If you need/use thumb buttons on your mice, you might want to try the MS IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. And if you don’t need the thumb buttons, check out the MS WMO (wheel mouse optical). Same sensor in both MS mice but the IE 3.0 is a bit bigger and has thumb buttons. The IE 3.0 is my all time favorite mouse. I always try new mice and end up back on the IE 3.0 while asking myself why bother, the IE 3.0 is perfect and damn cheap!
They are selling the “Legends Edition” of the IE 3.0 at Best Buy now and you can get a WMO from newegg for like $6. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Microsoft+-+IntelliMouse+Explorer+3.0+Optical+Mouse+-+Silver/Black/9883948.p?id=1218189012788&skuId=9883948)

That being said, I am currently using the Zowie EC1. Its really nice! It has yet to skip on me. Size is in between the WMO and the IE 3.0. Zowie makes the EC2 also. Same exact mouse just a bit different/larger shape. I actually own both. I like the EC1’s size a bit more. No drivers are need with these mice. 1000hz polling right out of the box. 3 dpi setting that you can change with a button on the bottom of the mouse. Plug and pwn noobs.

There is a lot to read about when it comes to mice. Lots of opinions floating around but when you look at what %90 of the top level Quake pros are using, its kinda telling IMO. Rapha and cooller both use the WMO, 1st and 2nd in the world finals… not like these guys don’t have a choice and its not like they don’t know what they are talking about. Rapha is sponsored my Steelseries and he uses a WMO with a Steelseries sticker on it! lmao

Also, check out this thread on ESR about mouse sensors… lots of good info in there.

PS, Hardup was able to get a G3 from Japan fairly easily. Shipping took a while. He got it and is now playing with the EC1 :).

I had 3 Logitech G series mice, two G5’s and a G500. All broke the same way.

So now i have MX400, its great but if i move too fast it kinda stops and goes to the opposite direction, other than that its fine.

Next mouse im getting is the Intellimouse 3.0, opinions?

only ever had one gaming mouse, roccat kova and it survived rage attacks  only real damage was on of the LED’s breaking. Good mouse since it’s driver less, but you can only use the preset dpi’s (400, 800, 1600, 3200) so might not be for you
