Thanks…but been through that…I’m guessing it has to do with the usb irq being set to the same irq as the display adapter…Strange huh? But I don’t really know.
This is the fifth forum in ten days…I’m not the only one with this prob., but we can’t find answers. :banghead:
Have you got a USB to PS/2 adapter that normally comes with USB mice? try connecting it through ps/2 if you have.
I had that, then i overclocked my cpu, and it went away :S
can u not change the irq of the usb?
:banghead: …thanks though…anyone else ?..I don’t want to overclock…I’ll burn it out with these apps. NO PS2 port either…all usb…maybe ifIi bought a mouse that could connect by firewire; do they make those…::going to check:: :blah:
dell inspiron 5100, 2.66 ghz, 512 ram, 64 video, win xp home, 15" sxga+, blah blah blah,
I’ve read and heard that Windows XP doesn’t allow you to change irq’s…and to be honest with you…there must be a way somehow, but I don’t know it and neither does a whole bunch of other people…other forums…no answer. Tech. support…crappy answers.
Someone who knows the answer is out there, I hope.
-Thanks again though, :banghead:
are you using a microsoft mouse with intelli drivers? if so uninstall the intelli software it has issues with et.
um, not sure how much use this’ll be to you, but on some BIOSes, you can decide if the Mobo should handle IRQ assignments or let the OS handle it with P&P - find out how this is setup. To this day I still tell my BIOS to let the Mobo handle IRQ assignments and say that a non-P&P OS is installed - you might be able to override the default IRQ settings - can’t remember properly as I haven’t needed to do this for a long time.
/HTH
Unplug mouse, remove ANY mouse drivers installed on your system and make sure PC doesnt know about mouse really. Reboot, boot up, plug in mouse, install drivers. Setup mouse. Load ET, do /m_[PRESS TAB] and have a flick through the vaules of your mouse settings changing whats needed.
Is it you dont have PS2? or you dont use? If its simply that you dont use it, I would really advise buying a USB - PS2 adapate… there like no more than £1 GBP.
it doesnt have ps2?
i didnt think they would of done away with that just yet :o
They shouldnt. PS2 > USB for Mice imo anyways.
I just dont see, especially on a new pc, it wouldnt have one.
Most mobos have em as a standard obviously and dont bother as much bout USB on the board cos there usually on a case or monitor and then its nothing but a wire.
