I’d just like to see if I could lobby for the Mortar to be able to destroy small structures like the Covert Ops’ Satch Packs. For instance on the Fuel Dump test map the Satch Packs can destroy the footbridge, the engineer built gun towers, the fuel dump fortifications, and so on and so forth.
At the moment I can’t think of very many uses for the mortar, if you want to lay down some fire on the otherside of the map a feild ops can just call in some artillery. If you want to take out a group of bad guys the Panzerfaust not only will do more area of effect damage but it also is instantaneous, mobile, and can be used indoors.
Hopefuly the mortar has more of a use on some of the other ET maps, but on Fuel Dump it doesn’t seem to do anything that other weapons and classes can’t do better. Having the ability to take out structures from afar would be just the awesome ability which would make the mortar worthwile.
