Mod built-in etkey generator

Is it thinkable,in the new mod versions will contain built-in etkey generator,or will they use unique GUID system?

Is it thinkable in jamod, noquarter, and etpub or not? What do you know about it.I know, there is a function for unique GUID in N!tmod 2.2 Beta 2,but is this version stable or not, because my server will crash every time when I start it with N!tmod version 2.2,with previous versions of n!tmod run it well, but there is not unique GUID option?

Is there any chance to find built-in etkey generation in next versions of jaymod or noquarter or not?Is there any plan to create new version of jaymod or noquarter? What you know about it?

Thank you for the answers.

Totally possible. Depends on how you want to achieve this goal and wheater you think (as a dev) to make your scheme public. There are good reasons to not make it public, but that would also mean there will not be a “general way” to do it. But it is totally possible. Considering that nowadays everyone is pretty much minding his own business, i do not see a global unique agreement of doing it.

The ways i know you can do it nowadays is by either totally clientside, partly client side and partly server side, or you could integrate external key generators, like etkey.org.

By the way: i wrote a client side key generator some weeks ago, i only need to find the time to get back to my project to integrate it. If done closed source, the scheme i use will be nearly unspoofable, and the good things is, that it does not require any extarnal sources for key generation, just the game, that means client and the server. But as said, i might hit some obstacles XD But the programm is actually ready and already extensively tested. It would work very good!

So yeah, its totally doable …

There’s a “known bugs” list for N!tmod 2.2 beta 2 : http://www.etmods.net/wiki/index.php/Known_Bugs

Just set “n_SQLiteDBPath” cvar correctly and the server should start

We’re working on the final 2.2 release, should be available in a few days/weeks.
