Moar gore!

I like the artstyle and the punky post-apo setting. But this game just need a tad bit more gore IMO. Can we haz options for blood decals? Instead of a depressed grey corpse waiting the respawn timer can we haz joyful heads rollings and limbs flying like the artillery sprays?

Much as I’d love that, the unfortunate thing is slow development.

Sure, they could chop their models to pieces in 3D program, but you can’t have insides filled
with void.

I can wait for years.

no

Well technically that kinda already happens sometimes. (Nader’s martyrdom?) Wouldn’t be opposed to the idea but I think development time would be better spent elsewhere.

I LIKE gore in games, but I think in DB it is fine right now. I don’t think more gore would fit to the overall style of the game

Current gore in Dirty Bomb :

  • Red annoying screen overlay when low on HP. Meh.
  • Pieces of meat flying when instaggibed by explosives. Keep it.
  • Some weird red pixel spray for bullet impact. Color feels off, not a fan.
  • Corpses must be sucked out of their colors so they can’t be raised back. Wait wut?
  • Maybe some gore so subtle I didn’t notice.

Overall style rating : PG Overwatch.

Splash Damage, gimme some blood decals and gibs. Please pretty please. A bit more than in CSGO, a bit less than in TF2, and it should be fine. Germany said it’s OK. Every player will be happier and produce less toxin, because catharsis and stuff.

They should redo some textures yes, but don’t forget this game is competitive, it’s already annoying having people hide in blood decals in CSGO. Then again, people in DB do glow so maybe it won’t be too bad.

It’d be cool and would add more sanctification when like blowing up enemies are consecutively gunning down multiple mercs but right now it shouldn’t be the main concern of this game since DB would really be able to use more maps and mercs right now.

Besides most people who play this game seriously tone down all the graphics and I don’t think that they would exactly appreciate blood and gore flying everywhere on their screen. SD would have to develop options for users to choose different amounts of blood and gore in the settings which would give them more work.

But more gore would be a nice touch to the game in the future.

I personally love turning into 6 pieces of meatball whenever I die to a soundless nuclear pancake.

Meh, I don’t think it’s necessary to waste development time on. Sure, there are games were gore goes amazingly with it. Shadow Warrior, Dying Light, Doom, etc, all look amazing with gore, and it really just feels satisfying.
But with DB being a competitive game, I really don’t think it’s necessary. In a game like Dying Light, hitting an enemy and watching their head explode into a million pieces in awesome. In Dirty Bomb, you really don’t care once an enemy is dead, it’s just too fast paced and competitive.
I’d rather not have distracting details in a game that’s supposed to be silly and cartoony

Meh competitive does not mean you play Quake Live on a potato anymore. It means spectacle. It means drama. It means Quake Champions and UT4 and their glorious bloodsplatters.

Bronies wont stop the second golden age of FPSes.

Because they are silly and cartoony. I dont think DirtyBomb artstyle is silly and cartoony. It’s not even gore free, you play the role of mercenaries in a bombed London. I just think the gore is not well done.

Competitive is not an argument :

Just watch the gibs and the gore there.

Of course there will always be people who will want to set graphism to Minecraft-like. They can edit ini files.

And then there is the game mechanic where you have to shoot corpses so they loose color. You may play this game only and find it perfectly normal.

It’s not.

If you have an appetite for gore, I suggest DOOM 2016. Plenty plenty plenty of stunning graphics and fluid gameplay

I guess I’m the odd one out. I like to admire my kills. Often times I perform a full-blown ritual and press V57 (Kawaii) while tea bagging the corpse of my fallen foe. Then I say a prayer to the Dirty Bomb Gods and RNG Lords and hope to wipe the enemy with my laser.

Kawaaaiiiiii

I don’t see any actual benefit, nor do I understand the “we neeed moar gore!!!111” attitude in general.

Because it’s fun to explodes things in tiny bits. Also I heard that gore fetishism is a thing.

Maybe if it came with a ON/OFF switch in the options. Mandatory gore (“mandagory”?) would certainly drive me away from DB.
