Aren’t I generous?

(G0-Gerbil) #2

BTW it’s now running on my clan server:

Uber1337.co.uk- GroundZero Public Server - 80.253.114.167:27960

Please don’t vote it off (or at least vote it back on if it’s gone already!)
It’s in SW mode.

Great to see you releasing source also.
Cant wait to try out your map

(Cosmos) #4

Nice big file but if it includes the source. This will come in handy for guys like me who are learning how to map.

Thank’s for taking your time making this map I will try it out and tell you what I think.

(Cosmos) #5

This map is very nice.
I like the landscape and the details and structures.
The lights coming through the windows in the church is v.good.

I didn’t find a server with this map so I had to set it up as /devmap I would like to see more servers running it.

(Cosmos) #6

HEHE I like swinging on those candle rope things.

(DeAtHmAsTeR) #7

very nice…!

(Lockeownzj00) #8

this is so GOD DAMNED GOOD!!!

GRGRWaruauerarryrrr :’(

sigh i hope someday I’ll be able to do this…

btw, i just noticed all your lamps are not-clipped.

 if my textures would work I’d be TRYING to do this…

(G0-Gerbil) #9

Have you tried grenading / panzering the cables though?

Also, there are 2 ghosts in this map - one is relatively easy to find, the other not so

Oh and not suprising there are noi servers, I’ve only just uploaded it. My clan server shopuld be running it now, it got reset cos our rental period is up and we upped it from 14 to 20 slots - should be fine now \o/ (Not that it’s in a proper server config so it’ll probably swap back to normal campaign once the map time limit ends :frowning: )

We played this map to death on the OLTL server I used to frequent. Pretty nice map, but works best with OLTL… Too small for other types of games, in my humble opinion. Really nice architecture and texturing, though. Its always fun to play the organ, and if you play it correctly, a cool ghost pops out or something. Its also incredibly fun to nade a chandelier, and watch it fall onto the unwitting fool below

Just read your latest post… A SECOND GHOST? Hmm, never found that. Maybe I will have to explore…

(G0-Gerbil) #11

I R dumb, what’s OLTL?
Yeah it’s intended for smaller teams - big maps are too easy to do badly and I am not into releasing crap maps if I can help it

Second ghost is a ‘bonus’ cos I needed to put something new and hidden in for you boring gits who like to boringly go boringly around poking into every nook and cranny.

What I mean to say is it’s a reward for all you people out there who make making custom maps worthwhile!

(Lockeownzj00) #12

ghosts? wherree… :o

(Cosmos) #13

Nice Ghosts
I won’t give any clues away but one of them is easy to find near the objective. :moo:

(G0-Gerbil) #14

Thanks for the mirror. As for releasing source, I’m not so over-protective, and there might be a few things in there people find useful. That’s the hope, anyway

(Slaughter) #15

Nice work Gerbil,
That’s the most “professional quality” ET custom map I’ve played so far! The textures are beautifully placed and so is the lighting, the church architeture is also impressive. Thanks for releasing the source!

Greetings

Actually, this was originally released for RtCW. Now, for anyone that likes this map, but supposedly hates RtCW-style maps, I hope you now realize that there are exceptions to every rule. This is actually one of my favorite custom RtCW maps. Runs well on computers with older video cards, too.

(G0-Gerbil) #17

What exactly is an ‘RTCW’ style vs an ‘ET’ style map (other than bigger and runs much slower in ET)?

We need more small maps, not massive ‘epic’ frame-rate killers.

I designed it to be fast, cos when I was mapping I had a really crap computer. Since specs have moved on (20 fps on radar with amd2400 ti4200, wtf???) this one should run like greased lightning

Also, shows detail does not have to equal slow.

Cheers for the encouraging support guys, but I found my first bug today :frowning:
The text for the radar should swap between Radar (on) and Radar (off) - it does as /devmap, but not as a PK3 :frowning: And there’s me slating all those other bug-ridden maps and mine is just as bad cos a single word of text is wrong :banghead:

(FN|DragonFly) #18

Well all the errors w/ filefront have been fixed

The new links are:

MML Church (RTCW Final)

MML Church (ET Source)

(kevinski) #19

RtCW-style maps are normally smaller, although this isn’t always the case. By RtCW-style, I was actually refering to maps that don’t utilize the newer ET features, like construction and vehicles. I love the map. Why didn’t you ever release anything past Beta 3 of the RtCW version, though? Is that considered final?

(Loffy) #20

I remember Church from RtCW. Is it the “same”? Does it have that Bach music in the start of the map. I loved that. And I remember swinging in those lamps too! Really cool map. And, if my memory is right, there were tunnels too?
I must dl and play this when I get home from work!
