Missing shaders?

Well i’ve recently got problems with et graphics but upto now i’ve ignored them as it hasnt affected me greatly, but now i’ve realised that is fucking up my ability to watch demo’s aswell so i need to get it sorted. Attached is what the main screen looks like, and in demos/trickjump maps i seem to get a lot of these black and orange boxes. In the console i get the error “Warning cannot find shader insert location of needed shader”. So far i’ve done a fresh install of et in a different directory and reinstalled my graphics card drivers and no luck.

I’m currently using driver 66.93 for my NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200.

Note, the screeny is dark because i cant take and in game screenshot of the start menu, so i had to press print screen

Hmm, strange.
Do you remeber what you have done before that situation appeared?
And this also happens when you start the new installation?
Have you copied any files into the new installation? Or ist it “blank”?
Have you installed the patch?

I know this situation.
But I’ve edited a shaderfile and have made a mistake.

errors in shaders / missing shaders , just remove junk pk3 files , then try to reinstall , and at end try redownload
it should not be becasue your gfx hardware…

I know of a few amateur pk3’s that wreck alot of things. My favorite is when they rename helmet MD3’s and when you run into a mirror the helmets magically change from 1 to the other every frame.

delete the directory of ET and then re-install dude. Otherwise, if that doesn’t fix it, you are in for a ride.
