mIRC disconnects when playing ET

I never played RTCW so I’m not sure if there was a problem with this with that game but I’m having it with ET. Most of the time when I log into a server and play and then leave the game and go to type something into my mIRC, I get disconnected immediately and it reconnects. I know it’s ET doing it because I’ve reproduced it numerous times. I have a DSL line so it’s not like mIRC is starving for bandwidth or anything but it seems like it is getting cut off because of how it disconnects…

Anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?

I have no such problem myself (have tried on two different computers).
Sounds like you either have some packet loss (may be due to your ISP) or that mIRC aint getting enough CPU cycles to keep the IRC connection alive.

I wish I could explain it. I have no such problems with AIM or Kazaa (downloading) or Winamp running in the background, or even all at the same time, but I can have just mIRC and it will disc. Really is weird. Guess I can try out a new IRC client and see what happens.

If you join thru ASE, it has an options/events section where you can set it to disconn form ICQ, try unchecking that. You never know …
