Mines: Disable Teammates Ability to File A TK Complaint?

(HillBilly) #21

sock is the Level Designer at Splash Damage ,so i hope this brings the thread to a close :D[/quote]

Thx for looking that up, Englander. Nice to see that they at least realize there’s a problem. But it’s out of beta now and in much wider release with a much higher percentage of newer players and it’s still a problem. And I’m still gonna keep hammering :bash: away at a better solution because, yes, I AM biased  .

Maybe it could be made into a team vote for mine TK’s? Mines being a separate category of TK? That would solve everyone’s fear about intentional mine TK-ers running amok with impunity. Let the whole team decide if the engineer has been “maliciously” planting minefields to try and TK teammates, not just one guy who’s pissed cause he wasn’t looking where he was going.

I’ll take that bet, since you only get 10 mines per team max and again, with your charge meter you’ll only be able to plant 2 or 3 in the time it takes me to spawn again if you do somehow get me to close my eyes and stumble into one of our own mines, because again, they will still have those 3-foot tall flags on them…

And I never said anything about making it impossible to kick them. Vote-kick will still work, just want to get rid of the erroneous complaint filing against the engineer who was obviously NOT trying to TK anybody.

…now that’s some hoplessly wishful thinking. :uhoh:

Here’s a better solution, why not just make it so teammates cant trigger the mines? They will have to avoid them anyway.

You forget most people aim directly forward, and it’s hard to notice anything on the very bottom or top of your screen. unless there are groups of them it is hard to notice it, especially at a high resolution when it is right over the corner.

I would rather have a server variable for nonff for mines.

AmazinGLarrY and his oh-so-knowledgeable “billion mines” TK argument = Yet another forum windbag feeling the need to pop off about something he obviously knows absolutely nothing about.

Sock said this on the 14th of June ,so he said it with the full version in mind.

Ive found a few servers were the players are experienced and dont file on mines,so that is my advice to people concerned with this problem find the quality servers and remember them

Its part of the game, like every game there will be things we hate. Well Im not sure but in rctw when you tk someone if you say sorry it auto drops the complaint ( thats if you beat them from hitting v45 to them hitting f2 ) I havent seen a big problem in et with them being in stupid spots and when I have I just ask them to not place them there anymore but if the keep it up either i leave or just deal with it. This game was free what can we expect, there will only more and more morons in the future.

It’s only a game but when someone has invested a lot of time into a Campaign from the start and some noob pops on at the end of the last map and complains them off it must be seriously annoying.

As for not seeing the flags. Yeah right, if you can’t see a flag in your fov I’d rather you switched sides
