Is it just me or does the binocular mine spotting work pitifully? I can sweep an area and the mine flag will not appear until I am looking at a completely different area. Thus it becomes excessively difficult to spot mines in some locations because you aren’t given an area to focus on. They really seem like they could either use natural trap awareness or at least have mines pop up like they do for trap awareness when your binoculars go over them. The delay between putting your binocs over an area and the mine indicator popping up can be a real killer when you don’t have much time to spot mines in an area your team needs to get through fast.
Mine spotting
I remember it working perfectly before, the little silhouette would show up and everything. But I think maybe the 1.02 patch messed things up or something.
I was curious but have never tried this… Can you use the shortcut ‘b’ binocs to spot mines or do you have to actaully select them and look…?
It is a 1.02 bug indeed that the white mine outlines do not appear anymore whilst scanning for them. ETPro solves this, BTW.
Thank you, that explains the frustration I ran into last night. I kept trying to spot mines, and am used to seeing the white outline in my binocs, then using that to zero in on the mines to spot them. Last night, I couldn’t seem to find a mine to save my life, and incidentally ran across a few that I should have spotted.
Yeah, this is a real killer when you are trying to spot mines in unusual positions. An example is mines places just beneath the crest of a hill you have to get close to spot them. Howeber due to the delay if rushed you may get it a fast sweep and go and end up stepping on a mine that should have showed up on your binocs. The delay is so bad battle sense works better for locating mines.
