MG42 - Inverted mouse

(Burrito) #1

It is quite annoying that MG42, both mobile and fixed, doesn’t support the use of inverted mouse. Will this be fixed?

(Ranstaton) #2

I haven’t noticed this. It seems fine whenever I use it. (I do use inverted)

I use inverted mouse, and it works as it’s supposed to !

(Burrito) #4

Huh!

So why does it switch to not-inverted then when I use the MG42???

(Auriel) #5

because it thinks your special?

(Burrito) #6

Ohh…that was helpful.

Maybe another key bind interacts with it, when i bind my Shift key 2 jump im bunny hopping constantly ingame, when i bind it 2 something else its gone again.

That will probably be down to Voice Comms, assuming you use it. It’s a well known issue with TeamSpeak (and others possibly) whereby binding SHIFT to something causes problems. The solution is to ensure that NUMLOCK is OFF when using Voice Comms programs. (don’t ask me why NUMLOCK interferes with Voice Comms, it just does!).

No idea what the original poster’s problem is though, unless a bind somewhere else is inverting (or un-inverting?) the mouse.

I fixed it now. The reason, I belive, was that I used my rtcw-cfg, which states the mouse to be non-inverted. I never changed this since I always played rtcw on OSP-servers, and OSP has a memory regarding such changes in the in-game controlpanel. In ET though, I must always change to inverted mouse (just must bother to change the cfg) when I start.

The strange thing is though that the cfg overwrites the manual in-game control panel, when using only the MG42, and nullifies my in-game change. Explain that one…

I seem to recall reading somewhere (possibly in the beta test documentation) that Splash Damage advised against the modification of anything not modifiable through the in-game Options. Doing so could cause “unpredictable results” or some such…
