MERC LIMITS

How about you finally put merc limits into ranked SD, it’s already bad enough having to play against burst rifles, shotguns, sparks, rhino, thunder, grandeur, pdp and the dreiss but being able to use multiple of the same merc is just straight up retarded.

Either put merc limits into ranked or don’t allow 5 and 4 man queues in ranked…

Perfect example of how retarded playing against a 5 man stack is that’s stacking mercs and how it’s just impossible to beat them when you get teammates that just have no clue what they’re doing, a duo should never be placed against a 5 man premade especially not if the 5 man can just stack everything…

I agree, merc limits should be a thing. I’ve been in a 5 man stack playing on chapel and we used 4 arty’s and 1 aura. It was stupidly op.

Limiting Ranked stuff would be really appreciated, but please don’t touch casual. I want to still have 8 Rhino stacks

I want a merc limit
But I don’t want to wait 30 minutes to find a match.

I agree we need a merc limit but since the player base is so small and most people who play this game are noobs I prefer if they will wait a bit before adding it.

By adding 1 merc limit, they are also forced to make it so you must own at least 15 mercs to be able to play (5 players * 3 mercs each) because swapping roles won’t go well in solo queue and sometimes you might end up being unable to spawn because 3 teammates already picked the 3 mercs in your squad.

But how can this work in practise when the majority of players I see in ranked only have the default mercs, free rotation and vasilli unlocked. Unless the min entry gets raised much higher as well, which would allow players with more mercs unlocked to play.

It could work, but SD will have to make sure only 2 people can have the same merc in their squad and you will still be required to unlock a few mercs before being able to comp (I’m too lazy to do the match but at least 5 that’s for sure)

There’s no fair way to implement this though. This isn’t Overwatch where you can just pick any hero you want at the beginning of the match as long as someone else isn’t using them. You can’t impose a Merc limit AND keep the 3 Merc team system. Because then someone may end up with only 2 mercs to choose from cause someone else already picked Sawbonez and rip you, that’s the medic you picked. Then your team is crippled because you have a useless merc slot that just sits there unused for whole match. So no, there should never be Merc limits of any form in Dirty Bomb unless they completely scrap the 3 Merc team system.

It’s already a problem in PUB games even without 5 men teams. Chapel is long range and artillery bonanza, I really feel the last two third of the map is not suited for team diversity.

Funny thing in Chapel is that you have either zero fire supports or 5 of them. Same goes with medics on other maps.

To stay on topic, a 2 merc limit would not change things much. 2 auras is already a nightmare when your team does not focus the stations. 2 thunders, 2 rhinos, 2 artys, 2 vassilis. Even 2 Fraggers or 2 Naders are annoying. Shall I go on ?

buying mercs is buying the liscense to use loadouts so you can practically make every mercs available but to use loadout you will need the liscense.

that would solve the problem if we want to have merc limit aint it?

There is a fair way to implement it, cooldown penalties. You can still perk multiple of the same merc, but you either share cooldowns or get a stacking penalty to the refresh rate of the cooldowns. It’d be a start at least.

get rid merc stacking, get rid of the 3 merc slots and make all the (overpriced) mercs free and sell a bunch of stuff that people want to actually buy and isn’t overpriced.

it will take some work but i’m sure SD can pull it off with the right effort.

better scrap the 3 Slots for Mercs and improve the Game by adding some sort of limitations. While they work on that they can remove Repairing from all Mercs except Engineers and Picking Up Players too.

There is so much stuff which needs little adjustments but has a great Outcome to the Game (unsync Spawntimes in SW for example)
