menu_server.wav

([ToC]Death) #1

Hey, I made a sound mod and in it, I added a new menu_server.wav. Whenever I load up ET, I don’t hear it and when I look in the console, it says “No data chunk in menu_server.wav”. It is 8Hz, 8 channel Mono. I know that Stereo is the only one that works, but FalckonET has it’s menu_server.wav on Mono. Any suggestions? I’ve tried every setting that my audio converter allows me to choose.

sound/music/menu_server.wav has the following settings:
PCM, 22,05 kHz, 16 Bit, stereo

So please open your wav file in MS soundrecorder and save it as wav with these settings.
Alternativ:
Try to search the forums.
There are some threads dealing with that problem.

Isn’t there another thread from you with the same problem?

Edit:

Try to search for “no data chunk”

I thought the same. It’s best to keep all in one place, and this thread is even in the wrong forum.

Hey, thanks… I searched, and found out that I needed to use another program to save it, so I did and now I get this error in the console:

----- Sound Info -----
sound system is muted
1 stereo
32768 samples
16 samplebits
1 submission_chunk
44100 speed
0x8792508C dma buffer

I think it’s the speed.
As I’ve told above 22,05 kHz.
Your’s has 44,1 kHz.

Audio format: PCM,22,050 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo.

How long is the file / how big is the file in MB?
You should try mono.

It’s roughly 40 seconds long. It’s about 4 mb :. Yeah, I guess I will try Mono.
