The problem with melee only is balance. Obviously katana players have an advantage, so what about them? Just have a PhantomFest or ban them?

And what about abilities? Miniguns, turrets and revivrs can be pretty OP weapons. But does that mean you should remove defibs too? Or self res, objective specialist and martydom?

Melee only can be fun, but there are a lot of balance issues associated with it. They can work for one fun match, but not really for a full dedicated server.

I think faster mercs only have an advantage at dodging bullets/closing the distance faster (which means they are less likely to get killed before they get close enough to melee)

However, when you play melee only, you can only damage the Rhino when he can damage you (cricket bat has the longest range afaik) so his slower movespeed doesn’t hurt him, but his higher HP helps a lot. Sure, you can run away, but good luck dealing with a rhino guarding the objective.

The disagree abuse is a little high against the OP don’t you think?
He was just suggesting they take an empty server or two (there are a lot of them) and disable weapons for people who wanted to melee only and have a good time.

I see no reason to berate him with so many disagrees.
