Medics & XP abuse.

(senator) #21

Do this once or file a complain and you can be pretty sure that this particular medic will now avoid you at all costs, no more medic packs for you, no revive.

(Cosmos) #22

I never file a complain unless there is a blatent TK abuser. Medics are good to kill you and revive you if your short on health, they are probs low on pack charge and the syringe gets your help up to what 3 packs could do. But some idiots will file a complain to the medic for killing him/her… quite lame… I think complaints should be taken off altogether and an admin should be in a server ready to kick any TKers.

(bani) #23

i dont think youll be gettting many medics rushing to help you with that attitude. if i saw that from a player i would avoid them at all costs even if i wasnt a medic. they sure as hell wouldnt get any needles or medpacks from me ever again.

(Dingo19) #24

You’ll never, ever get revived again with that attitude. Nor should you.

First of all, a good medic knows when to TK or not. Only a moron would do it in the middle of a fight, so that’s a moot point. However when there is some safety and the person is very low on health, yeah, I will shoot and kill them if I believe that the person understands what I’m doing.

Important things for new medics that want to TK/Revive:
Don’t do it unless you’re level 3 medic with full health revive. The other night I did it a few times on battery, someone else saw it and took after me, except they were level 1…
Ensure it’s safe so you are 100% sure you can revive them.
Make sure the person knows what you’re doing, newbies will think you’re XP whoring.
Make sure that they’re really low on health, I only TK if they’re on their last breath. Otherwise give them packs.
Do not shoot them in the head! You will take their helmet off making them far more vulnerable in the future.

The flip side:

Seems to me a high-level medic has far more resources than the “old” medic from RtCW. Which means that the “I must tk/revive because I don’t have any packs” argument no longer applies - EXCEPT to low-level medics (who… don’t have any packs).

Just Say No to all Tks

No, full revive more than compensates for the faster charge time. Especially if you don’t have a command post built. Really, by the math, TK/revive is just the better way. In RTCW and ET. That of course assumes the medic knows when and where to do it, and the patient isn’t math challenged. If you look at competative RTCW players, this isn’t even a question. Everyone does it, because it is better

That said, I only do it on pubs if the situation is desperate or I have reason to believe that the victim knows what is going on (either I have seen them do it, they are somone I recognize from RTCW, they have a clan tag, or just seem like a skilled player).

  1. No TK, it’s a dumb idea. Although I probably won’t complain, unless you keep doing it after I tell you to stop.
  2. Medics are plenty pow’ful enough. Why not just follow your soldier around until he gets in some crap or you can heal him up as charge allows. A medic isn’t much good not following folks around anyway.

So if you down to 5 HP and the medic nearby is low on energy you would prefer just one medipack to continue the fight instead of a quick shot in the back, revive and being at full health again ? Makes no sense to me :???:

(raag) #32

i dont believe in the tk/revive either. ill just wait until the enemy or another teammate kills them. i play a medic, im there to help. its unethical for a medic to tk deliberately.

(Coolhand) #33

It’s quite simple: if you’re low on health, keep a low profile until you find some health. In ET there are health stores as well as medics

YAY! The hippocratic oath - first, do no harm

:banghead:

Did you guys even read the first post? This thread isn’t about TK revive. He’s talking about a medic shooting you and then giving you a health pack to whore up points. Christ.

This is just a theory, but I think this is why they cut the XP for health packs in half from the test.

(Auriel) #35

for a medic trying to be helpful, and not get xp, a tk revive can be useful if they haven’t got enough action bar to give you health packs.
especially with full revive
